Secular culture is constantly pushing boundaries. But it seems, as times goes on, the push has become increasingly aggressive.

Earlier this week, Converse unveiled a new limited edition collaboration with fashion designer Rick Owens, through his brand, Drkshdw. The sneakers — coming in several styles — feature a pentagram in place of the iconic Chuck Taylor star.

In a quote posted by Converse, Owens said he has “been using this pentagram for a long time because, obviously, it has adolescent occult associations.”

“But I like geometric diagrams like that because, in a very primal way, they are a culture’s grasp for control,” the 59-year-old designer explained. “And a way to organize thoughts and systems. And a pentagram, in this day and age, with all of its...More

Iowa Couple Married 73 Years Pass Away Hours Apart

palms of an old person or couple

An Iowa couple, who were married for 73 years, passed away just hours apart from one another. Family members say it was a blessing that God didn't keep them apart for too long.

James, 94, and Wanda Wold, 96, of Garner died on July 20 in the same room that the couple lived in together at Concord Care Center.

The couple's daughter Candy Engstler said a staff member from the nursing home phoned her, indicating that her mother had passed at 4:00 a.m. She and her sister immediately went there to comfort their father, KCCI News reports.

Engstler recalled, "He folded his hands with both of us on either side and said 'Thank you, Jesus. Thank you for taking her and would you please take me.'"

Then their father's prayer was answered.

"About 7 (a.m.), I got the call he also passed," she added. "He allowed...More

Communist officials in China’s Zhejiang province forcibly removed crosses and other Christian symbols from Christians' fishing boats and threatened to cancel their fishing permits, according to a report.

Officials from Qushan County, an island, did not show any legal documents when they forced Christian fishermen to remove crosses and “Emmanuel” slogans painted on their boats last Wednesday, the U.S.-based persecution watchdog China Aid reported.

The officials, who appeared to target only Christians, and not individuals from other beliefs, threatened the fishermen that if they refused to allow them to remove the Christian symbols, they would not grant them fishing permits and nor would they allow them to purchase gasoline or...More

Actress Candace Cameron Bure is apologizing for a Tik Tok video in which she lip-syncs a Lana Del Rey song while holding a Bible.

The video, which she posted but then deleted on her Instagram page, shows her fixing her hair and then leaning over a table as she picks up a Bible and mouths the lyrics to the song “Jealous Girl.”

“Baby, I’m a gangster too and it takes two to tango. You don’t wanna dance with me, dance with me,” she mouths.

She wrote over the screen: “When they don’t know the power is the Holy Spirit.”

The video, which remains on her Tik Tok page, drew criticism that it was weird and sensual, Fox News reported.

A Nigerian woman, whose husband was killed by herdsmen two years ago, is now mourning the loss of her son by the same group of attackers.

A Florida boy who was nearly killed by his own father in 2018 found a new home with one of the detectives who responded to the crime scene.

WKRC News reports that Corporal Mike Blair of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office went to a call where a man had killed his girlfriend and daughter. He also stabbed and lit his 8-year-old son on fire.

"We were told there was a child being medevacked to Tampa General, but he was not expected to live," said Blair.

The detective went to visit the boy named Ronnie in the hospital a few weeks later and the two quickly bonded. The boy even asked if Blair could stay and watch a movie.

Pastor Donates His Kidney to a Congregant in Need

a pair of medical instruments during an operation

A pastor from Missouri is encouraging Christians to "love like Jesus" after he donated one of his kidneys to a congregant earlier this year.

Pastor Jack Coultas, who leads Park Grove Christian Church in Deepwater, donated his kidney to church member Jeremy Whitman, 36, who needed a new kidney due to diabetes.

"I wanted to do something practical to be able to help him," Coultas told CBN News. "When Jeremy went through kidney failure, that put a heavy burden on my heart," he added.

Coultas then shared that God put it on his heart to consider donating his kidney to Whitman.

"A verse that was regularly coming to mind was a passage out of 1 John 3:16-17: 'We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has...More

A congregation and a representative of an Islamic community have filed a lawsuit against the Republic of Uganda over pandemic lockdown restrictions that have halted in-person worship.

ADF International, a partner organization to the United States-based Alliance Defending Freedom, announced their litigation against the Ugandan government on Thursday.

At issue are lockdown measures enacted last week that, while allowing secular entities to remain open and public transportation to be at 50% capacity, nevertheless banned houses of worship from meeting in-person.

Agnes Namaganda, a member of the Christian fellowship supporting the legal challenge, said in a statement...More

Israeli Archaeologists Uncover Evidence of Biblical Earthquake Mentioned in Amos, Zechariah

dry bones likely from Bible times

Archaeologists in Israel say they have uncovered physical evidence in Jerusalem of an earthquake referenced in the biblical books of Amos and Zechariah that struck during the divided kingdom and after the reigns of David and Solomon.

Zechariah 14:5, seen by many as a reference to the second coming of Christ, says, "You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah." Amos 1:1 also mentions the earthquake and says Amos saw a vision about Israel "two years before the earthquake, when Uzziah was king of Judah and Jeroboam son of Jehoash was king of Israel." Uzziah was considered a mostly "good" and godly king of the southern kingdom of Judah, while Jeroboam was a bad king who led the people away from God.

The Israel Antiquities Authority said this week it had uncovered...More

Hindu leader issues call for anti-Christian violence: ‘Let us drag people from the church’

Shocking video shows antifa members assaulting a group of Christians, including children, who were gathering in Portland, Oregon Saturday for a scheduled prayer event.

Journalist Andy Ngo shared video of the large group carrying shields and weapons as they yelled profanity at the worshippers.

The Christians can be heard praying as the antifa members became more aggressive and violent.

A woman attending the event described the group as "ruthless."

Church vaccinate hundreds after 6 members died from COVID-19

impact church members getting vaccinated in jacksonville
Impact Church of Jacksonville, Florida, hosted a vaccination event on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021, in which more than 250 people received the COVID-19 vaccine. The church held an earlier event in March 2021 in which around 800 people were vaccinated.

Over 260 people were vaccinated this weekend at a Florida church after six of the congregation’s members passed away from COVID-19 over the course of 10 days.

Impact Church, a non-denominational church based in Jacksonville with multiple satellite campuses in the United States and abroad, held the vaccination event on Sunday.

Christian Doctors Beat Biden in Court: Won't Be Forced to Perform Abortions, Transgender Surgery

doctors and nurses walking away

On Monday, a federal judge handed religious liberty advocates a major win by ruling that the Biden administration cannot force Christian doctors and religious hospitals to perform abortions or gender transition procedures under Obamacare.

The case involves a portion (Section 1557) of the Affordable Care Act that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex. The Obama administration interpreted Section 1557 as also prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, although the Trump administration reversed that policy and said it interpreted it as referencing "male or female and as determined by biology."

In May of this year, the Biden administration reverted to the Obama policy, with the Department of Health and Human Services saying it would interpret Obamacare as banning discrimination on the...More

Facebook Introduces 'I Prayed' Button for Faith Community

facebook displayed on a phone

If you've ever felt constrained by Facebook's "like" button and its limited range of options for spiritual matters, there's good news: The social media platform is adding a "prayer" button.

So far, the feature is available only in Facebook Groups that employ it, although churches and faith-based organizations across the country already are using it.

The new feature allows users to click on an "I prayed" button, in addition to the traditional buttons.

Robert Jeffress, pastor of First Baptist Church in Dallas, has endorsed the idea.

"Facebook and other social media platforms continue to be tremendous tools to spread the Gospel of Christ and connect believers with one another – especially during this pandemic," he told the Associated Press. "While any tool can be misused, I support any effort like this that...More

A federal court has ruled against a counselor who was fired from a Catholic high school in Indiana because she was in a same-sex marriage, citing the legal standard of ministerial exception.

Lynn Starkey had sued the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Indianapolis and Roncalli High School for firing her for being in a marital relationship that conflicted with Church teaching.

United States District Judge Richard Young ruled Wednesday that the Catholic institution was free to fire Starkey on the basis of its religious standards for employment and that a secular court had no place to interfere in the decision.

Church's Pro-Vaccine Sign Is Vandalized, Covered with Reference to Mark of the Beast

four coronavirus vaccine tubes being held

A Louisiana church was recently the victim of vandalism when someone spray-painted several messages on the church's sidewalk and over their sign encouraging the local community to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

According to Premier Christian News, First Grace United Methodist Church in New Orleans posted a sign featuring the following message: "Love Thy Neighbor. Get Vaccinated."

However, vandals proceeded to spray-paint the Bible verse citation Revelation 13:17 over the church sign. For Christians familiar with the biblical text, one can conclude that it is a reference to the mark of the beast, also known as 666.

"So that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name," the scripture reads.

Three Christians are in jail after hard-line Hindus in northern India last week beat two of them, both pastors, and a Hindu they were comforting in the loss of his family to COVID-19.

In a recent interview with British online newspaper The Independent, Guyanese-born British actress Letitia Wright opened up about how God has sustained her throughout her career.

"The world is so fickle, and there's not much that you can really put your hope in to make you feel whole," Wright, 27, told the interviewer. "Even now, I'm going through a new transformative stage of my life with understanding who I am, but with God, you can really just get through these situations. It's been beautiful to have my faith in Jesus, which is worth more than anything," the Marvel actress added.

Wright is perhaps best known for her role in the 2018 Marvel film Black Panther. She played Shuri, the sister to T'Challa, or the Black Panther, who was played by the late actor Chadwick Boseman.

After a court refused to admit a “hate speech” case against her, a Christian street preacher in the United Kingdom says she's suing the police for arresting her on the false accusation that she threatened to stab gays and non-believers while she was preaching outside a tube station.

A judge ruled this week that there was no case to answer as the words of Hazel Lewis, a 49-year-old preacher who was arrested under the Public Order Act while preaching outside Finsbury Park tube station in North London last February, had not been threatening or abusive, The Telegraph reported.

Lewis said she is now planning to sue the Metropolitan Police.

“I am delighted that the judge has seen through the lies and has vindicated me,” she was quoted as saying.

A Christian teacher who resigned in protest of her school district’s curriculum said it was “by the grace of God” that she found the courage to take a stand.

Laura Morris, who formerly taught at Lucketts Elementary School in Leesburg, Virginia, announced her resignation at a Loudoun County School Board meeting Tuesday, declaring that the district “promotes political ideologies that do not square with who I am as a believer in Christ.”

Morris told the board that she refused to continue serving as a “cog in a machine that tells me to push highly politicized agendas on” her students.

Two months after being acquitted by a high court and surviving death threats, a Pakistani Catholic mother and her partially paralyzed husband, who were on death row for seven years on false blasphemy charges, have arrived in Europe.

Shagufta Masih and her husband, Shafqat Emmanuel, faced death threats after reports of their acquittal by the Lahore High Court broke in early June. In 2014, a session court had sentenced the couple to death by hanging.

“We are so relieved to finally be free. The last eight years have been incredibly hard, but we are so happy to be reunited with our children,” said Shafqat Emmanuel on behalf of the family, according to ADF International, a human rights group that supported the...More

'Pray for the Christians in Afghanistan': Taliban Takeover Puts Church in Peril

christian afghans on a queue

A prominent faith-based organization is urging Christians to pray for Afghan believers, who face an uncertain future and possible persecution in the face of the Taliban's takeover of the country.

The Taliban – a repressive Islamic regime – took over the Afghanistan capital of Kabul on Sunday as the United States military continued its withdrawal from Afghanistan. President Biden had ordered all troops pulled from the country by September.

It is unknown how many Christians live in Afghanistan, although some estimates put the number between 10,000 and 12,000, according to International Christian Concern, which monitors persecution around the world. Most of them are converts from Islam – a fact that makes them targets for persecution by the Taliban. Under Taliban ideology, the punishment for conversion to...More

A prominent Christian camp based in California that averaged around 2,200 visitors a year has been destroyed by the Dixie Fire, reportedly one of the worst fires in the state's history.

Sierra Bible Camp, founded in 1952 and based in the northeastern part of the state on the banks of Lake Almanor, suffered the destruction of all 23 of its buildings.

The camp advertises itself as a "summer Bible camp for the youth where everybody can get to know more about the Savior as well as connect with peers of the same faith." The camp confirmed the destruction in an Aug. 7 Facebook post. The camp's leadership expressed gratitude...More

An Orthodox congregation in Canada whose church building was destroyed in an apparent wave of church arsons has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in the weeks since the destruction of its house of worship, although more will still be needed.

St. George Coptic Orthodox Church of Surrey, British Columbia, located around 24 miles away from Vancouver, was destroyed in an arson attack on July 19.

“I woke up to several missed calls and texts on my phone the morning of July 19th, all related to the fire at the church,” Steven Faltas, a church spokesperson, told The Christian Post.

U.S. Has Moral Obligation to Protect and Resettle Afghan Allies, Evangelical Leaders Say

Afghanistan city

A coalition of evangelical leaders is urging the Biden administration to help resettle Afghanistan citizens who were allies of the U.S. or may face persecution for their Christian faith, saying America has a moral obligation to assist those endangered by Taliban rule.

The coalition sent a letter to Biden Tuesday, one day after he addressed the nation from the White House and stood by his decision to pull American troops out of Afghanistan. The Taliban is a repressive Islamic regime that opposed the rights of women, Christians and adherents of other faiths when it ruled Afghanistan prior to the U.S. invasion of 2001. The U.S. invaded Afghanistan after the Taliban refused to hand over Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the 9/11 terrorist attacks that killed some 3,000 Americans.

The letter includes the names of seven...More

Sudan Detains Bible Shipment, Christian Leaders Say

stream through a landscape

Christian leaders in Sudan said government officials have detained a shipment of Bibles by demanding customs fees from which it is exempt.

The Rev. Saad Idris Komi, chairman of the Sudan Pentecostal Church, said customs officials refused to release the Bibles earlier this month after rejecting his denomination’s application for tax-exempt status for the shipment. Sudan’s Fundamental Rights and Freedoms Act, enacted in July 2020, eliminates customs duties for religious literature, Pastor Komi said.

Botrous Badawi, a Christian and an advisor to the minister of Sudan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments, raised a complaint about the detained shipment during a workshop on religious freedom in Khartoum in Aug. 8.

Church leaders say there is a dire need for Arabic-language Bibles among the country’s...More

Former Satanist says he converted to Christianity after having out-of-body experience in Hell

Worshipping the devil, practicing witchcraft and delving into the occult world for decades alongside family members who were practicing witches are all memories ex-Satanist John Ramirez has of the life he lived for 35 years before turning to God.

Ramirez, who is now 57 and an evangelist, said he will never forget the night 22 years ago when he made the decision to “walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.”

On that evening in 1999, Ramirez said that God gave him a "life-altering, out-of-body experience" in which he transcended from his bodily form and went on a train that he knew was traveling to "Hell rapidly.”

In a recent interview, Ramirez told The Christian Post that during his out-of-body experience, he remembers sitting on the train, going faster than...More

A 20-year-old man in Uganda who had converted from Islam to Christianity was tied up and murdered by his own father after he refused to forsake his faith in Jesus, according to a report.

The victim, identified as Tabiruka Tefiiro from Bupalama village in Kibuku district’s Buseta sub-county, was murdered by his Muslim father, Kasimu Kawona, on Sunday, Morning Star News reported.

Tefiiro had been living and working in Kampala since he put his faith in Christ in 2019. Amid pressure from family members to return to Islam, Tefiiro agreed to come back on Aug. 1 but continued to refuse to recant his faith in Christ.

Megachurch Pastor Steps Down Following Sexual Misconduct Allegations

church pinnacle

A popular megachurch pastor, TV and radio personality from Oregon has taken a leave of absence from ministry following recent allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse.

According to The Roys Report, 33-year-old Ben Courson of Applegate Christian Fellowship near Medford is accused by three female former church members for initiating sexual relationships with them.

Applegate elders were made aware of two of the women’s accounts following an elder’s meeting in June.

The third woman, however, told The Roys Report that she did not report the allegation to the church yet as she had only recently learned of the other women. Regarding Courson, she had previously characterized their relationship as a serious dating relationship.

Xavier Brasseur, pastor of The Story Ashland in Ashland, Oregon, told the outlet that his church...More

Why a Virginia middle school is removing urinals from the boys’ bathrooms
Michael Brown holds a Ph.D. in Near Eastern Languages and Literatures from New York University and has served as a professor at a number of seminaries. He is the author of 25 books and hosts the nationally syndicated, daily talk radio show, the Line of Fire.

It’s bad enough that a middle school in Loudon County, Virginia, has decided to remove “male” and “female” signs from its bathrooms. But in an even more extreme nod to social insanity, this same school is removing the urinals from the boys’ bathrooms. Why? It’s because a number of biological females, who identify as males, are offended by the presence of urinals.

So rather than point out to these females that they are not really males (otherwise, they’d have no problems with urinals), the school turns the world...More

Muslim Relatives Set Lethal Trap for Convert to Christianity

Muslim Relatives Set Lethal Trap for Convert to Christianity

Muslim relatives of a former Islamic teacher in Uganda who became a Christian set a trap for him last month, hiring killers to bury him alive in a large ant mound, sources said.

Saban Sajabi, 32, had gained repute as an itinerant sheikh, teaching Islam in various mosques and schools in eastern Uganda, before an uncle led him to faith in Christ in 2015. With family members threatening him, he left his Muslim wife and child and fled to Jinja that year.

He received further threats after marrying Sarah Birungi, a Christian, in 2016, with the warnings continuing this year. A source said one of the last text messages he received from a relative read, “If anything happens to you, be informed that we shall not help you, especially at this time of COVID-19. How to prevent divorce before it happens

How to prevent divorce before it happens
Dan Hart is Managing Editor for Publications at Family Research Council.

There are close to 800,000 divorces every year in America, which is roughly one every 36 seconds. About 74% of divorced or separated adults are Christian.

It’s worth pausing for a moment to think about this. Despite the clear teaching of Christ against divorce (except in the most serious of circumstances) in Mark 10:2-12 and Matthew 19:3-9, divorce is astonishingly common among believers.

It’s safe to say that when it comes to divorce, Christians have let American secular culture take root in their own homes. After no-fault divorce laws became the norm nationwide beginning in the 1960’s, the divorce rate more than doubled over a 20-year span from 1960 to 1980. While the rate has fallen in the decades since then, America still has...More

God offered Solomon to ask for anything he wanted. Solomon famously did not request long life or wealth. He asked for wisdom because he realized he sorely lacked it:

"And now, O LORD my God, you have made your servant king in place of David my father, although I am but a little child. I do not know how to go out or come in."

1 Kings 3:7

Knowing when to go to war and when to come home and claim victory or at least promise peace requires great wisdom. Solomon was David’s son because he notoriously stayed in his palace and seduced Bathsheba, the husband of an active-duty...More
