People pause at the September 11th Memorial on September 9, 2021, in New York City. New York City and much of the nation are preparing for the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in both New York City and Washington D.C. The United States has officially ended its participation in the war in Afghanistan, a two-decade-long conflict that began shortly after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Almost 2,500 U.S. service members have died in the conflict, and thousands of Afghan troops, police personnel and civilians have also been killed. | Spencer Platt/Getty Images

Congregants at Calvary Chapel Melbourne in Florida are upset and asking questions after elders at the multi-campus megachurch announced that Mark Balmer, their founder and senior pastor for some three decades, would no longer be leading the church. Several church members expressed the belief that they were certain Balmer would have preferred to “stand in the pulpit until his last breath.”

“Ecclesiastes tells us, ‘There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens.’ Although we are sure Pastor Mark would want to stand in the pulpit until his last breath, the elders with support of senior leadership, believe...More

A Christian pastor summoned to a police station in India’s Chhattisgarh state was brutally beaten by a mob of 50 Hindu nationalists who were waiting for his arrival.

The mob falsely accused Pastor Ankush Bariaya of converting Hindus “illegally” and began beating the pastor with shoes and fists inside the Purani Basti Police Station in the state capital of Raipur, U.S.-based persecution watchdog International Christian Concern said in a statement on Saturday.

A witness at the scene was quoted as saying that the attack seemed to be "well planned."

Unknown assailants in Nigeria’s Kaduna State “macheted to death” a pastor from the Evangelical Church of Winning All whose body was later found by a search party, as the troubling trend of deadly attacks on Christians carry on unabated in that country, according to a report.

The slain pastor has been identified as the Rev. Silas Ali of ECWA in Kaduna State’s Zango Kataf Local Government Area who left his home to go to Kafanchan area on Saturday, Nigeria’s Punch news outlet first reported Sunday.

The shooting took place in the Shamsabad locality of Sherakot area in Lahore city, Punjab Province on Sept. 6, Morning Star News reported.

Asif Masih, one of the wounded Christian residents, was quoted as saying that he heard shouts followed by bursts of gunfire from fully automatic assault rifles after he returned home from work that afternoon.

Spanish Catholic Bishop Resigns His Post After Falling In Love With A Satanic Erotica Writer
Diocese of Solsona | Xavier Novell was considered a rising star in the church before his resignation.

Love can sprout in the strangest of places. Hoping to conduct more powerful exorcisms, Spanish Catholic bishop Xavier Novell set up a meeting with Silvia Caballol, an erotic novelist who peoples her stories with demonic characters, to learn about demonology. Instead, he fell in love with her and decided to leave the Church.

“I have fallen in love and want to do things properly,” Novell exclaimed.

His August 2021 resignation has sent shockwaves throughout the Catholic community in Spain. Novell became the country’s youngest bishop when he rose to his post in 2010, at the age of 41. Many saw him as a rising star before he...More

South Korean Pastor David Yonggi Cho, Founder of World's Largest Megachurch, Passes Away at 85

Pastor David Yonggi Cho, the founder of the world’s largest megachurch, passed away on Tuesday morning. He was 85.

According to a press release by his church, Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul, South Korea, Cho had been receiving medical treatment at the time of his death because of a brain hemorrhage he suffered in 2020.

Cho was born to a Buddhist family in 1936 and grew up during the Korean War. When Cho was 17 years old, he converted to Christianity after doctors told him that he was going to die from a severe case of tuberculosis. According to Cho, God healed him of the disease in a “miraculous” recovery.

“I will never forget God’s blessing and grace over my life, through which He chose me to be His Servant when I was just an...More

Greg Locke

A pastor known for controversial stands on COVID-19 and the 2020 election has been banned from the social media giant Twitter.

“Twitter just permanently suspended my account. Welcome to America,” Greg Locke said in a Facebook message posted Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 14).

Pastor of the independent Global Vision Bible Church in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, just east of Nashville, Locke was a relatively unknown figure until he discovered the power of social media in the wake of the 2015 Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage nationally.

His Facebook videos criticizing that decision and follow-up videos about plans by Target to allow transgender people to use the bathroom of their choice went viral, turning Locke into a social media force....More

Singer John Cooper Was Promised Fame if He Stopped 'Talking about Jesus'

Singer John Cooper Was Promised Fame if He Stopped 'Talking about Jesus' – It Was a 'Turning Point in My Career'

Skillet's John Cooper is known as the hard-rocking frontman who isn't afraid to talk about Jesus. But a decade ago, he faced a crossroads in his career where he was promised more fame if he would stop talking so much about Christ.

That moment, he told Focus on the Family's broadcast in an episode released Monday, took place around 10 years ago when Skillet was rising on the rock charts.

Cooper also discusses the moment in his new book, Awake and Alive to Truth.

The discussion involved Cooper, an agent, a promoter and another music businessman who was a "mover and shaker," Cooper says in his book.

"After a gig, we were on tour with some mainstream acts – very popular acts. We were opening," Cooper told Focus...More

Kodak Black, Rapper Pardoned By Trump, Accepts Christ as His Savior

Rapper Kodak Black, who was one of 73 individuals pardoned by former President Donald Trump before he left office earlier this year, has recently converted to Christianity.

The rapper, whose full name is Bill Kahan Kapri, accepted Christ after praying with ministers Kevin Louidor and Annia Icart at a gas station last Tuesday. Louidor and Icart both attend King Jesus Universal Ministry in Homestead, The Christian Post reports.

"TESTIMONY! GOD SAVES! On our way to our church King Jesus Universal Ministry with my sister in Christ Annia Icart, we went to stop by the gas station, and we happen to meet a popular rapper Kodak Black, and the Lord used us to minister to him and his crew, and Kodak gave his life to Jesus Christ!" Louidor wrote on Facebook.

He included a clip...More

Billboard Comparing Trump to Jesus Christ Is Removed after Backlash

A Tennessee billboard that seemingly compared former President Donald Trump to Jesus has been removed following backlash.

The billboard, which was located in Fort Oglethorpe just outside of Chattanooga, Tenn., included a photograph of Trump on the right portion of the billboard with a Bible verse featured prominently in the middle in all caps: "unto us a Son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulders." An American flag comprised the background.

The verse, Isaiah 9:6, is viewed by Christians as a prophecy looking forward to the Christ Child. The billboard did not include the first few words of the verse: "unto us a child is born."

The billboard also included the words "Joint Heirs" and "Romans 8:17."

The billboard went viral on social media, with...More

Christian boy who suffered burns to 65% of his body in anti-Christian attack has slim chance of survival
Christians meet near their rebuilt church in Kandhamal. In 2008, almost every church in the area was destroyed by Hindu nationalists. | John Fredricks

A Christian boy who suffered burns to 65% of his body in an acid attack in eastern India’s Bihar state is in "very, very critical” condition and is unlikely to survive, according to the doctor treating him. The family said they suspect Hindu nationalists are behind the attack because the boy is a leader in a local church and the area they live in has anti-Christian sentiments.

The victim, identified as Nitish Kumar, was attacked with acid after he left his house in a village to go to the market in the early morning on Aug. 11. Now, Dr. K.N. Tiwari of the burn unit of Appolo Burn Hospital in Patna city...More
