Cardi B & Meghan Thee Stallion's Explicit Grammy Performance Is an Example of Our Failing Morality

John Cooper, frontman of the band Skillet, described in his podcast last week, how the explicit performance by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion on the Grammy's affirms, even more, that our society has started to redefine "good" and "evil."

The female performers mimicked sex acts during their dance routine for the explicit song "WAP." According to ABC's WFAA, "the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) confirmed it had received around 80 complaints from viewers, many of whom dubbed the performance as ‘borderline pornographic'."

In the podcast, Cooper said the performance is an extension of our "woke" culture. The singer says our culture is redefining "good" and "evil"; a "perfect example" of Isaiah 5:20, which reads, "What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light, and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter."

"We're living in a world right now where there are certain Dr. Seuss books that you cannot sell on eBay," Cooper said. "They're just too much for anybody to even be allowed to buy. They're being yanked down from all the bookstores and stuff like that. It's just too much. It's too evil, so you can't go on eBay and buy it. But you can — and must — applaud the sexual degradation of Cardi B and Meghan Thee Stallion simulating sex together on the Grammys."

"This is the perfect example," he continued. "You must celebrate it. In fact, if you don't celebrate it, then you're actually a bad person and you kind of, like, don't love people, right? You're actually not nice. This is the perfect example, you guys."

Many have compared this year's explicit Grammy performance to a suggestive performance by Madonna very early in her career. Cooper went on to compare the two performances and their cultures.

The Skillet frontman said that Madonna's early dance was a "revolt" against traditional values that were still acknowledged as right, so she was deemed rebellious; while Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion are deemed "virtuous" for freely expressing themselves in this modern "woke" culture that continues to look away from and denounce Christian culture to "redefine" right from wrong.

Cooper added, "there is no middle ground with the world about right and wrong."

"The question is, who is going to define what is good, and who is gonna define what is evil?" he asked. "Every dictator in history says that what they were doing was good. That's what they believe. If you go back and you read some of Hitler's speeches, he's, like, ‘I'm gonna set people free — free from the bondage of the Ten Commandments.' In his mind, he's a liberator. It's always like that, you guys."

"Cardi B and Meghan Thee Stallion's performance last weekend is what happens when you "redefine evil and you redefine good," he continued. Cooper explained that there is no more commonality between the world and God's Word, as the world is no longer rebelling, they are just redefining what is virtuous with what they believe is virtuous.

"A society forced to applaud immorality and call it morality - that's a society that will bring the judgment of God."
