Israel Approves Plan to Seize and Occupy All of Gaza

Israel Approves Plan to Seize and Occupy All of Gaza

Israel is intensifying its swift efforts to gain the remainder of the Gaza Strip. Plans were approved on Monday morning by Cabinet members as an Israeli Military Chief called up reserve soldiers that numbered in the tens of thousands, according to Military.com.

The plan includes the military increasing and widening its presence in Gaza while also pushing civilians to southern Gaza. Israel intends to begin a new humanitarian aid program for them there in the coming weeks while also being able to fight against any Hamas terrorists who are still in northern Gaza in a more thorough way, according to The Jerusalem Post.

This plan was proposed back in 2024, but the Biden administration and various IDF members objected to the plan at the time. Since the Trump administration is now in the White House, Israel has been given more freedom regarding how it chooses to handle war strategies and humanitarian aid, according to The Jerusalem Post.

The Israeli military will remain in the territory it gains for an unspecified amount of time, as well as the territory it gained previously. It presently has over 40 percent. If Hamas decides to agree to negotiate a new ceasefire deal, Israel still intends to keep troops at the edge of the border.

Israel isn’t getting any support from the UN because the UN sees Israel’s plan as an effort to “militarize, manipulate, politicize the aid by allowing only aid to a few concentration hubs in the south, a scheme where people will be screened, where it’s a completely inoperable system,” secretary-general of the Norwegian Refugee Council Jan Egeland told The Guardian.

“That would force people to move to get aid, and it would continue the starvation of the civilian population. We will have no part in that,” he added.

Once Israel reopens the humanitarian aid program, there are two American companies that will handle it: Safe Reach Solutions and UG Solutions. These companies have worked with Egyptian officials in a previous ceasefire effort to monitor vehicles that were supposed to be part of the humanitarian aid distribution effort. Those who work for the companies have Special Forces or CIA backgrounds that equip them to handle missions of a complex nature. There have been issues in the past with Hamas interfering with humanitarian aid distribution efforts, according to The Jerusalem Post.
