LESSONS TO LEARN FROM JOHN WESLEY'S LIFE

Romans 15:2-4; 1 Corinthians 10:11-13

There are so many lessons to learn from the life and times of John Wesley. First lesson-Death is inevitable and necessary end of all men, no matter what a man may become. Everyone will die at one time or the other because it is appointed unto men to die once (Hebrews 9:27). John instructed that his grave be built while he was still alive. Joseph died in Egypt but gave instructions that his bones should be carried to the Promised Land. Live and prepare for eternity. Second lesson - the most useful men and women having served their generations, according to the will of God, one after the other, fell asleep. Third lesson - we shall all be remembered by what we have done. Everyone will surely bid this world farewell one day but only be remembered by what they have done. John maintained a consistent relationship with God until the very end. Will you continue in the
Lord? Fourth lesson - To John, to live was Christ and to die was gain. Imagine dying at that ripe old age and still preached what became his last sermon on Feb. 23, 1791 where he said "Seek ye the LORD while he may be found…” Fifth lesson - For John, storms never alarmed him, for they must surely cease on Canaan's shore as he marched onward. He never allowed the "thunder and lightning" of his marriage to stop him. My dear, if you have made this marriage mistake and your
spouse seems to have been sponsored by hell to stop you, tell Satan to get behind you and move on. Sixth lesson - for people who go out of their ways, compromise principles and faith to get children, so as to perpetuate their name on earth, John had no biological children. And he never allowed that to distract him. The question is, is he forgotten? No, 224 years after his death, yours sincerely writes about him, in my remote corner here in Africa and not in England. You shall not be forgotten "for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife..." (Isaiah 54:1). Seventh Lesson - It pays at the long run to serve Jesus. I am personally encouraged and trusting God to help me serve him faithfully and continually. I will
neither falter nor faint and will fight on till the end so as to be crowned with the crown of righteousness. What about you?

PRAYER: See me through, Lord Jesus see me through. There is a race I must run, a victory to be won and heaven to move into at last. Help me LORD.
EVENING READING: Deuteronomy 34:1-12

OFFENDED IN CHRIST?

The Christian race must be run with lots of patience or else it will be bungled midway. If you are inpatient with Gods timing, you will not only get into trouble but may not be able to finish the race. A good number of backsliders derailed from their heavenly track because of impatience. In Matthew 11:6 Jesus...More

Jehovah appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre. And...

Jehovah appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre. And he sat at the tent-door in the heat of the day. And he lifted up his eyes and saw, and behold, three men standing near him.
(Genesis 18:1)

The spiritual elevation of Abraham in Genesis 18 and 19 is something very peculiar. He seems...More

BAD SOIL

For your request to be granted, you have to apply relevant keys. Many people desire financial breakthrough but are not prepared to apply the right key; unsurprisingly the door just won’t open. 2 Corinthians 9:6 says you must sow bountifully and if you don’t sow, do not expect a harvest. Do you know some...More

THE WAY OF ESCAPE

The Bible predicts that a lot of problems and calamities will befall the world as the judgment day approaches. For example, Prophet Joel in Joel 2:30-31, predicted that the Lord will show divers wonders in the cosmos and on earth:
“And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and...More
