CELEBRITIES OF CHRIST details logo Daily Scripture Reading - Monday, December 14, 2015

2 Corinthians 3:1-18

If you are familiar with some newspapers, you will discover that societal celebrities hardly have private lives. These celebrities often struggle with the Press in an effort to keep their so called 'private'. The Press people know that stories around and about these people sell like bestseller books. The prying public wants to know everything about these people – how they shop, how they sleep, their marital relationships, their children etc. In advertisement, organizations also use them to attract customers for their products. Think of a prominent footballer, loved by many fans and holding a bottle of coke to drink. Many will drink coke simply because such a
famous person drinks coke. Celebrities are like cities built on top of the hill. No matter their remonstration about their privacy, one of their perils of being a well known person is the loss of privacy. Friend, when Jesus said “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid”, what He meant is that the moment you have announced your identification with Christ, you have become a celebrity in Him. You cannot hide. All eyes are on you to know how a Christian reacts and responds to life situations. Celebrities are role models. Their fans 'sheepishly' follow to do anything they see them doing because they have concluded that it is the best way to do such a thing. As a Christian, the eyes on you are more than what you can
imagine. That is why you must be careful in all things. To whom much is given, much is expected. You are Christ's epistle.

PRAYER: Lord, help me in all what I do, so that others may see and learn Jesus in those things.
EVENING READING: Matthew 4:12-25
