Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey is stepping down as CEO of the social media platform, and investors couldn't be happier. Dorsey was at the helm when Twitter banned President Trump and censored other conservatives.

The company announced Dorsey will be succeeded by Twitter's current chief technology officer, Parag Agrawal.

Dorsey will remain on the board until his term expires in 2022. Agrawal joined Twitter in 2011 and has been CTO since 2017.

Can we reset our biological clocks?

When we first sent men to the moon back in 1969, our life expectancy was about 70. Today we're still going to space, but we can expect to live about eight years longer. But what if, like space itself, age could be almost limitless?

Three of the leading scientists on aging all agree that either slowing our clock, or perhaps even resetting it, is no longer science fiction.

Dr. Nir Barzilai, at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, said, "Aging can be delayed. Aging can be stopped. Aging can be reversed in several ways."

Morgan Levine, at the Yale Center for Research on Aging, said, "Maybe a 70-year-old of the future will look more like a 40-year-old or...More

Newly published data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reveals that the number of abortions in the United States increased slightly in 2019, making it the second consecutive year with a rise in abortions after nearly a decade of decline.

The CDC released its latest "Abortion Surveillance Report" Friday, documenting the “number and characteristics of women obtaining legal induced abortions and number of abortion-related deaths in the United States” in 2019. The CDC compiled the data in the report based on statistics provided from 47 of the 50...More

Professor Resigns following Backlash for Suggesting Sexual Attraction to Minors without Acting on It Is Okay

A Virginia college professor has resigned following widespread backlash for suggesting that being attracted to minors while also not desiring to act on it is not immoral.

In an interview with the Protestia Foundation earlier this month, Dr. Allyn Walker, a former sociology and criminal justice professor at Old Dominion University (ODU), discussed their recently published book, A Long Dark Shadow, which included interviews with over 40 adults who were sexually attracted to minors. Walker is reportedly nonbinary and transgender.

"There is no morality or immorality attached to attraction to anyone because no one can control who they're attracted to at all," Walker explained. "In other words, it's not who we're attracted to that's either okay or...More

Parents sue Wisconsin school district over trans pronoun policy: 'Significant breach of trust'

Two sets of parents have filed a lawsuit against a school district in Wisconsin over a policy that reportedly allows students to change their name and gender pronouns without parental consent.

The parents filed the complaint in Wisconsin Circuit Court on Nov. 17 against Kettle Moraine Middle School, their names being redacted in the documents released to the public.

According to the complaint, one set of parents had a 12-year-old daughter enrolled at Kettle Moraine Middle School who was experiencing depression, anxiety and questioned her gender.

The parents sought counseling and wanted their daughter to be referred to by her birth name and female pronouns. However, the school replied that they would identify her by her chosen name and pronouns...More

Pro-life activists have expressed optimism while the head of the nations largest abortion provider expressed concern after the U.S. Supreme Court held oral arguments on Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban Wednesday, a case that could alter longstanding judicial precedent legalizing abortion nationwide.

Activists on both sides of the abortion debate held dueling rallies outside the Supreme Court as justices heard oral arguments in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health. Mississippi is asking the justices to reverse a lower court ruling striking down the state’s 15-week abortion ban while the Biden...More

More than 66,000 people have backed an online petition calling for the Wildcat Stadium of Oxford High School in Michigan to be renamed after standout football player Tate Myre, who died along with three others after reportedly attempting to disarm the 15-year-old sophomore who went on a shooting rampage at the school Tuesday.

The U.S. recorded its first confirmed case of the omicron variant Wednesday, in a vaccinated traveler who returned to California after a trip to South Africa, as scientists around the world race to establish whether the new, mutant version of the coronavirus is more dangerous than previous ones.

The infected person was identified as a traveler who had returned from South Africa on Nov. 22, developed mild symptoms and tested positive Monday.

Researchers at the University of California, San Francisco obtained a sample from the patient Tuesday evening and worked feverishly overnight to assemble the genetic sequence.

The person, who had had the two doses of the...More

Atheist Richard Dawkins Sides with Christians in Transgender Debate: It's 'Discrimination against Women'

One of the world's most prominent atheists has sided with Christians and traditionalists in the debate over gender by asking his followers to sign a document that declares the "meaning of the word 'woman'" should not "be changed to include men."

Richard Dawkins, a well-known atheist and biologist and the author of The God Delusion, tweeted a link to The Declaration on Women's Sex-Based Rights, which was launched by a United Kingdom group that believes replacing "sex" with "gender identity" would result in "discrimination against women and girls." Although the document implicitly supports legalized abortion and progressive beliefs about sexual orientation, it also promotes traditional beliefs about gender and gender identity.

The death toll following the eruption of the highest volcano on Indonesia’s most densely populated island of Java has risen to 13, with seven people still missing, officials said Sunday as smoldering debris and thick mud hampered search efforts.

Mount Semeru in Lumajang district in East Java province spewed thick columns of ash more than 12,000 meters (40,000 feet) into the sky, and searing gas and lava flowed down its slopes after a sudden eruption Saturday triggered by heavy rains. Several villages were blanketed with falling ash.

A thunderstorm and days of rain, which eroded and finally collapsed...More

Aung San Suu Kyi, the 76-year-old Nobel laureate who spent years under house arrest for advocating for democracy under the military dictatorship in her native Myanmar, was sentenced to four years in prison on Monday by the generals who toppled her civilian government almost a year ago. The military junta seized power in February, arresting Suu Kyi and many other politicians and activists in the process.

As CBS News Asia correspondent Elizabeth Palmer reports, the four-year sentence for incitement is just a fraction of the time Suu Kyi is...More

People Are Getting Vaccine Passport Microchips Embedded in Their Hands as COVID Advances the 'Internet of Bodies'

The number of Swedish residents who have opted to implant microchips with their vaccine passport into their hands has risen since the country announced new COVID restrictions, according to local media.

On December 1, Sweden enacted new rules that require individuals to have a passport at all events with more than 100 people.

"Vaccine passes are a measure that we see as necessary," Karin Tegmark Wisell, with the Swedish Public Health Agency, announced in November. "We cannot just kick back and hope for the best."

Aftonbladet, a Swedish daily newspaper, reports since that announcement the number of people who have chosen to receive a microchip in place of carrying a passport has increased....More

In the name of “gender equity,” the Chicago Public Schools system is doing away with boys’ and girls’ bathrooms, opting instead for gender-neutral restrooms.

CPS Title IX officer Camie Pratt introduced the sweeping changes at the beginning of the week, stating: “On top of ensuring that each of our schools is a safe environment, we’re also taking steps to create more inclusive and supportive schools. One change that will be implemented this school year relates to our school bathrooms.”

“In compliance with the new federal guidelines,” she continued, “all CPS students and staff will have fair and equitable access to bathroom facilities that align with their gender...More

Trans-identified swimmer breaks women's records after competing for 3 seasons on men's team

Trans-identified swimmer breaks women's records after competing for 3 seasons on men's team

A trans-identified athlete’s continuous record-setting performances are causing concern among those who fear that allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports will damage the integrity of women’s athletics.

Lia Thomas, a trans-identified male who has been competing on the University of Pennsylvania’s women’s swimming and diving team this season, has shattered records even though the athlete competed on the men’s swim team in previous seasons.

As the University of Pennsylvania noted in a statement published over the weekend, Thomas completed the women’s 200-yard freestyle at the Zippy Invitational in Akron, Ohio, in 1 minute and 41 seconds, beating the second-place finisher by nearly seven seconds.

A detailed list of results reveals...More
