Our message is: Jesus

God, who at various times and in various ways, spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by his Son.
Hebrews 1:1.2.

Our message is: Jesus
What is the difference between Christianity and other religions? The latter put the emphasis on following teaching, adopting a philosophy and undertaking good works. Christianity directs us to a Person. It is not a question of doing, but of believing in Jesus Christ.

Buddha and Mahomet do not deliver from evil, and their message has not power to transform our life from its roots. Christian faith leads us to Christ, who has the power to save us totally and grant us eternal life. Jesus does not only bring us a message from God, He is that message. He does not simply proclaim the truth, He says: "I am the truth". He not only shows us a way, He affirms, "I am the way". He does not just open up new perspectives, He says, "I am the door".

Being a Christian is not merely following teaching, practising certain rites or even doing good, it is accepting Christ as God's supreme message. Receiving Jesus means confiding in Him and opening the door of our life and our heart to Him. It also involves accepting His sayings as reported in the gospels. No-one can claim to accept a person, if he refuses to listen to him. That is why it is important to read the gospels confidently and prayerfully, asking God to ensure that what we read makes us turn to Jesus and believe in Him.

Today's reading: Exodus 18:13-27 · Luke 8:9-18

UNCOVERING EVIL

The presence of the supernatural power of God in a church can take that church beyond limits.
It can also uproot the presence of evil in the midst of Gods children. In Acts 5, a couple were uprooted through this. If we are going to sanitise the church, we need the Holy Spirit. Just as we need Him to heal, save...More

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; ...More

THE NON-LYING GOD (2)

In the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the ages of time, but has manifested in its own due season His word.
(Titus 1:2-3)

THE NON-LYING GOD (2)
I can lie. Titus could too, and so could the Cretans. But God can not lie. I can deceive. But...More
