September 20, 2015 Today’s reading: 1 Corinthians 5 Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent. For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him. And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain. And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre. But God raised him from the dead: And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people. Acts 13:26-31 Thoughts on the Book of Acts (109) Paul had now reached the core of his sermon in the synagogue at Antioch: Jesus of Nazareth, the promised Messiah! He came to His people, but the religious leaders would not acknowledge Him. They rejected Him and demanded His death, not realising that their Holy Scriptures prophesied precisely that course of action. But not they alone, the Roman governor and with him the whole world were guilty of the death of the Saviour. Paul preached a crucified Messiah, mentioning His burial and thereby underlining the fact that Jesus really died. Israel responded to God’s love with enmity and crucified His Son. But they could not extinguish God’s love in so doing. God raised Jesus from the dead! Like the crucifixion, it was a historical fact that was testified by many witnesses. Open Heavens for Saturday, December 14, 2013 by Pastor E.A Adeboye CAN SATAN RIGHTLY ACCUSE YOU? Besides discouragement, another weapon Satan uses often against believers is their weaknesses. He simply studies an individual for a period of time and not long after, he identifies the fellow’s weakness and capitalizes on it. Take for instance Peter. Satan discovered that Peter is a cowardly person-lacking in...More |

Wisdom therefore feeds on knowledge, and the type of knowledge applied determines the type of wisdom you get. According to the Bible, there are many kinds of wisdom. There is the wisdom of words in 1 Corinthians 1:17, the wisdom of the world in...More |
