Today's reading: Numbers 10:1-17

Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

Luke 10:20; 1 John 3:1

Our name
Each of us was given a name at birth. It was our father's surname, followed by our first name which was lovingly chosen by our parents. That name has stood since on all our written papers. How many times have we written, spelt, entered or underlined it, sometimes in capitals to avoid error or confusion. Our name is bound up with our life's history, and normally we cannot change it. One day it will be engraved on a tombstone.
Will it be remembered? Will it go down in history? Probably not! Nevertheless we can be sure that it will not be forgotten for ever. It has been recorded in God's book and will only remain in the book of life if we have received Christ as our Saviour .
Even if man's archives are eventually destroyed, God's register will be opened only to establish that the names of the dead to be judged are missing. They have not believed in the Lord Jesus. Jesus Christ calls us. Let us reply: "Present!" Then He can declare before His Father and His angels that He knows our name.
His joy will be to write His Name on us to prove that we belong to Him, just as we mark or seal our personal belongings. We shall be with Him for ever, without having to pass through the judgment. "He who believes in Him is not condemned" (John 3:18).

BROKENNESS

In your relationship with God, one place you need to get to is the place of brokenness. To be broken is to have some form of injury that makes the object less than a whole. In spiritual parlance, it is to break or subdue the flesh in order to be more profitable to the kingdom of God. Why do you need to be broken?...More

DELIVERANCE: DIVINE ASSURANCE

When God speaks, that settles it. He reigns forever. When He gives a decree, it is forever. When He says "surely", it means surely. When He says surely, it will be well with me, nobody can change it. He says surely, by His stripes I am healed, and nobody can change this. He says surely, everything I do shall...More
