Today's reading: Numbers 28

O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!
Psalm 119:5

Psalm 119 is a remarkable and impressive document of the psalmist's intense love of the Word of God. "Your word is very pure; therefore your servant loves it" (v.140). This text underlines every verse of the psalm. The writer shares the conviction and experiences he has had from the Word of God with the readers, but he does not suppress his fears and his requests.
In today's verse, he expresses his wish that his life's pathways might be marked by heeding God's statutes. He clearly sees that the means must justify the end. If the influence of the Word of God is to be seen in his life, then his way of living must agree with it. His interests and occupation must support and accompany his intention. They must not distract from it or hinder it.
This God-fearing man is thus an example for us today. If we too are filled with the same desire, blessing will be the result. This must be our prime object in our personal life with the Lord. Only then can we expect blessing in our co-existence with others, in our marriage and our personal and spiritual relationship with others. A credible example set by parents is of supreme importance for our children, whom we wish to bring up for the Lord Jesus. Finally, a genuine appreciation of spiritual gifts will also have a blessed effect on our brothers and sisters in the faith, with whom we meet together.
We can ask the Lord for help for our pathway, but we are responsible to recognise and remove all that causes disturbance. Our pathway must correspond to our heavenly calling.

It can also uproot the presence of evil in the midst of Gods children. In Acts 5, a couple were uprooted through this. If we are going to sanitise the church, we need the Holy Spirit. Just as we need Him to heal, save...More

HIS PRESENCE, OUR BLESSING

There are many blessings in the presence of God. This is the key to drawing multitudes to the Lord through His presence in your life. When people notice that God is mightily present in your life, they will seek Him through you. It is not about making noise; it is about the visible and verifiable workings of God....More
