If a man dies, will he live again?

If a man dies, shall he live again? Now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by man also came the resurrection of the dead.
Job 14:14; 1 Corinthians 15:20.21

If a man dies, will he live again?
From time immemorial the peoples of the world have had a premonition that death is not the end of all things. Mythology handed down in writing and also age-old burial objects discovered by archaeologists clearly show that mankind has believed in life after death. People have always asked questions that went beyond our earthly life. God has "put eternity in their hearts" (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

We often hear the phrase "beyond the grave". What is meant by it? "Beyond" is what surpasses the limits of my experience and the world recognisable by my senses. That makes it clear that God alone can reveal the truth of the matter to me. And the Bible, the Word of God, shows clearly that there is life after death. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the proof of it. In addition, the Bible points out that there are two distinct destinations in the hereafter. Our decision where we shall spend eternity is made now on earth. It all depends on whether I have a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ by faith.

Jesus Christ's resurrection is one of the most glorious facts made known by the gospel. After Jesus' death the disciples were despondent; but when He stood before them alive, everything changed. Through His resurrection and ascension to heaven Christ opened up the way for them and all believers to be with Him in eternal joy hereafter.

MEAL OF REMEMBRANCE

The Holy Communion is a very significant meal. Unlike regular meals, it a meal of remembrance. When some people take this meal, they forget to heed the instruction in today's Bible reading where the Lord repeatedly said "this do in remembrance of Me". In other words, the meal reminds us of God's power of...More
