A grave in a small cemetery has a granite stone in...

One thing I know; that though I was blind, now I see.
John 9:25

A grave in a small cemetery has a granite stone in the form of a cross with a Latin inscription engraved on it, the English translation of which is: "We are born of God. We die in Christ. We are made alive again by the Holy Spirit". The words sound good, but are they true? The statement on that gravestone really only applies to those who have faith in Jesus Christ and have accepted Him as their Saviour.

Such people are indeed "born of God". They have experienced the new birth through faith in Jesus Christ. And being inseparably united with Him, they die in Christ. They have been made alive again by the Holy Spirit, because they have taken hold of the redemption that is in Jesus Christ by faith and been sealed with the Holy Spirit (cf. Ephesians 1:13).

"As many as received him, to them he gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in his name; who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God" (John 1:12.13).

"Blessed are the dead, who die in the Lord" (Revelation 14:13).

"If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from, the dead dwells in you, he who raised Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you" (Romans 8:11).

Today's reading: 2 Chronicles 11:1-23 · Revelation 2:8-11

NEGATIVE LIVING

Life comprises of positive and negative elements. As a matter of necessity, it is not good for someone to opt for negative living. The fact that Jesus Christ was destined to die for the sin of the whole world does not exonerate Judas Iscariot from the evil that led him to the idea of betraying the King of Glory....More
