More tolerance?

The Lord is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
2 Peter 3: 9.

More tolerance?
At our Bible stand a young man asserted, "Times and customs have changed. You ought to re- consider your attitude towards the cohabitation of men and women and be more tolerant towards them on this matter."

I replied; "Now we are not here to represent our own opinion, but to propagate the message of the Bible. The Word of God is always valid and true. It shows us that God is light and love. He will never alter His standard of good and bad, but He forgives everyone who repents over his sins and believes on the Lord Jesus. Do please take a New Testament and be convinced on this matter."

On the question of sin God is intolerant, but He is exceedingly patient regarding the sinner. Although He abhors and condemns all that is wrong in our life, He does not want us to be lost. So He speaks to us through the gospel of His grace.

God insists that we repent. We must change our way of thinking and judge our life as God sees it. Then we recognise how bad things are with us. We have transgressed His righteous commandments and deserve His punishment.

However, God wants us to believe in Jesus Christ, who paid the price for our redemption with His own life. He died on the cross in order to meet God's requirement of a just punishment for our sins. That is why we can be pronounced free from our guilt through faith.

GOD PROMOTES

When God set out to deliver the children of Israel from Egypt, it was to take them out of captivity and bondage and to lift them up. God has come to take you out of your current location in the miry clay to your promised land - a land flowing with milk and honey. This simply tells us that the God of Abraham, Isaac...More

TRAIN UP YOUR CHILD 1

One major undoing of modern civilized society is an abounding generation of untrained children. This trend did not just start, but has been on for some time now. The result is that many untrained children of few years back have become parents themselves. It is the multiplier effect of their lack of proper home...More

A LIBERAL HEART?

Read:
, God asked the widow to feed the prophet before taking care of herself. At the end of the day, what was not enough became more than enough. To what extent do you practice giving as an individual, family, church or nation?

Those who never give will continue to beg, if you desire to...More

Hebrews 11:24-28

Author Zora Neale Hurston wrote a book titled Moses, Man of the Mountain. Published in 1939, it retells the story of Moses and the Exodus. Hurston altered details of the story for her own purposes, weaving in allusions to African American history, folklore, and song. She reflected...More
