Christ had just been crucified between two robbers...

Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads and saying, You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross.
Matthew 27: 39.40.

Christ had just been crucified between two robbers. Some onlookers had gone to the place of execution out of curiosity. Others felt their attachment to Him and accompanied Him on that difficult pathway. But there were other passers-by, who showed no interest in Him or His situation.

They walked past, but by no means in silence. They blasphemed the Son of God. They should have kept quiet; but they thought they had to express their contempt for the crucified One. They knew of His miracles, that He had saved others, healed the sick and raised the dead. They remembered how He preached with authority and quoted His words to scorn Him. They knew of His claim to be the Son of God and demanded proof of his power: Jesus should come down from the cross. All this was done, as they passed by.

Don't we, too, sometimes act similarly with Jesus Christ? We speak about Him without having informed ourselves from the Bible. We judge His activity without knowing Him. And we continue through life, as if that did not concern us. However, we overlook the fact that death concerns us each one. We have to come to terms with it. And then we ignore the fact that He is truly the Son of God, even if He did not come down from the cross to save Himself, as the scoffers had demanded. The Son of God suffered death in order to save you and me!

After His death He did not remain in the tomb, but rose triumphant and entered the glory of God.

My times are in Your hand'Psalms 31:15 NKJV

The Psalm writes, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, "You are my God." My times are in your hand' (vv. 14-15 NKJV). As you walk with God you'll find that you spend more time waiting than you do receiving. And when you receive what you're waiting for, then...More

A Statement Of Purpose To Live By

Always give yourselves fully.' 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV

Next time you pass a McDonald's, think about this statement from the one of the founders: Ray Kroc. Press on! Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent....More
