God on earth

No-one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.

God … has … spoken to us by his Son, … through whom also he made the worlds.

John 1: 18; Hebrews 1: 1.2.

God on earth
People sometimes say: “Show me God, and I’ll believe in Him.” Can our thoughts be restricted to what we see? God is a spirit; the human eye cannot see him, nor can our reason conceive Him. “God is greater than man” (Job 33:12).

But God makes Himself known. Hasn’t He revealed Himself through His works in nature, which He created? Do I have to go to a watchmaker to verify that someone made my wristwatch? Then what about the wonders of nature and the human body? Nature proves its Creator. But God has done even more: He Himself came to earth. The existence of Jesus Christ is just as certain as that of Alexander the Great or Napoleon. God made Himself known through His Son, Jesus. Certain people see nothing but myths in the gospels, but there can be no doubt about the miracles and accounts recorded: the facts are reported by four different witnesses. The gospels speak of powerful works of love accomplished by His word. They describe His pure, holy life and report His teaching characterised by love, peace and forgiveness as well as truth and righteousness. They show us that He judged evil, but welcomed the suffering, forgave the sins of those who believed in Him and put their trust in Him. Jesus Christ was the revelation of our holy, righteous God. “God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not imputing their trespasses to them” (2 Corinthians 5:19).

God is great but He humbles Himself to the level of His children to deliver them. The one who will deliver you must be stronger than the enemy holding you captive. The reason He is able to deliver is because He is stronger than all your enemies put together. This is why in Psalm 24:7-10, He is called the Lord...More

Today’s Bible reading defines wisdom as the principal thing in life. Wisdom is most important because you need it to relate effectively with God, the devil and his cohorts. You also need wisdom to govern your relationships with friends and foes. At work, at school and in the ministry, you need wisdom. With wisdom,...More

The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
