Suffering and glory (2)

God has highly exalted him, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of those in heaven, and of those on the earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2: 9 - 11.

Suffering and glory (2)
After His rejection by mankind, Jesus died on a cross. But through His sacrifice He accomplished the work that God had given Him for the salvation of sinners.

God resurrected Him and crowned Him, . All contempt was over: celestial beings adored Him with the greatest reverence.

What a tremendous contrast! The One on whom heaven heaps honours is the very Man of whom the earth rid itself. Indeed, He still bears on His hands and feet the wounds that man inflicted on Him.

God permitted the human race to express its hatred towards His Son, because He wished to save the sinners who detested Him, yet whom He Himself loved. Today God's salvation is proclaimed freely throughout the whole world. Those who accept it are joyful and acknowledge the glory of Jesus.

The day will come when all will recognise the glory of the despised One. That is God's resolve. Then every knee will bow before Him. People will be compelled to acknowledge His greatness, but, alas, it will be too late to be saved.

Don't wait for that day! Receive Jesus as your Saviour and Lord now!

Today‘s reading: 1 Samuel 1: 1 - 11 · Ephesians 3: 14 - 21

But they forget that...More

ATTENTIVE TO THE MASTER'S INSTRUCTIONS?

It is always good to pay close attention to instructions given by someone you claim to be your guide or guardian. Often, we miss many opportunities, breakthroughs and victories because we fail to see the details of the instructions given to us on a subject. A multinational company once held a promotional exam for...More
