God’s love of mankind

I have loved you, says the LORD. Yet you say, In what way have you loved us?
Malachi 1: 2.

God’s love of mankind
In this present age of grace God has the gospel proclaimed. By this means he informs people everywhere: “I have loved you”. But many people question or doubt the truth of this. They think that God does not love them, because they suffer severe strokes of fate. They fail to understand why they have such difficulties and in their bitterness ask God, “In what way have you loved us?”

I myself cannot comprehend all that God has allowed to happen in my life. Nevertheless I am convinced that He loves me. He has given me an irrefutable proof: “In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him” (1 John 4:9).

Out of love towards me God sent His only Son to earth to die in order to pay off my debt of guilt. Although I had sinned against Him and not bothered about Him, God accepted me when I turned to Him by faith in the Redeemer Jesus Christ.

I shall never fully understand that God loved me so much! Yet the Bible assures me that nothing and no-one can separate me from His love (cf. Romans 8: 39).

Nobody can rightly say, “God does not love me.” The cross of Calvary proves the opposite to be true. There God sacrificed His Son out of love to all, so that everyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ might be saved.
