If we speak to people about God and their relationship with Him, we...

Jesus said, … I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of myself, but he sent me.

God … has in these last days spoken to us by his Son.

John 8: 42; Hebrews 1: 1.2.

If we speak to people about God and their relationship with Him, we get very different answers.

The atheist says, “There is no God” He seeks many arguments to persuade himself and many others of his conviction. However, three great opponents undermine the credibility of his assertions: nature; the Word of God and his own conscience.

A godless person says, “”If there is a God, why doesn’t He show any concern for me? He takes no notice of me, and because I am indifferent towards Him, I am no longer interested in Him.”

Whoever sees God solely in nature says, “There is indeed a God. He will not condemn me, because I do my best. But I doubt whether the Bible is His Word and therefore authoritative for me. God has revealed Himself exclusively in nature.”

The religious say, “God’s commandments are hard, but I take pains to keep them. If I do not always succeed, God will correct what was wrong and in His goodness take me to heaven.”

The self-righteous say, “I have kept God’s commandments; so he must bless me. Moreover, I am glad that I am not as bad as other people.”

God Himself says of man that he has become foolish in his thinking and that his ignorant heart has been darkened (Romans 1: 21). For a true understanding of God conversion and faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, are necessary first. In Him God has revealed Himself fully.

Today‘s reading: 2 Kings 1: 1 – 10 · John 15: 18 – 27

DIVINE CHAMPION 2

Yesterday we discovered that our Lord Jesus Christ is the number one champion and that He makes His people champions. We also saw that a divine champion is a person raised up and supported by God.

One attribute of a champion is strength. The divine champion is one who receives divine strengthening. 1...More

Jesus, The Wisdom Of God

Luke 11:49 'Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute.'

LUKE 11:46-49
This phrase 'Therefore also said the wisdom of God,' is a part of Luke's narrative and not the words of Jesus. Luke is saying...More
