Too late!

Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us! But he answered and said, Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.
Matthew 25: 11.12.

Too late!
Robert Scott wanted to be the first to reach the South Pole. After starting out on his expedition, he learned that Roald Amundsen was also on his way to achieve the same aim. A tense race between the two had started.

The two Polar explorers chose different routes and means of transport. Scott banked on motor sledges and ponies; Amundsen relied on huskies. It soon transpired that Scott had made the wrong choice. The motor sledges failed, and the ponies sank in the snow. Little wonder that Amundsen and His companions reached their goal five weeks earlier. On the 14th December 1911 he hoisted the Norwegian flag at the South Pole.

As Scott approached the South Pole, the blood in his veins froze: he was not the first there, he was too late! The immense exertions that he had undergone had been in vain. Feeling depressed, his honour offended, he and his comrades started the journey back, from which none survived.

Those who have not received Jesus Christ as their Saviour will one day share Scott's experience. After death it will be too late for them to do so. Who can imagine their horror and feelings, when in eternity they realise that it is too late - too late to be converted, to late to be reconciled to God, too late for heaven. Today is the 14th December: you could ensure reaching a better goal than Amundsen did 110 years ago.

Today‘s reading: Ezekiel 36: 16 - 38 · Psalms 136: 13 - 26

BROKENNESS

In your relationship with God, one place you need to get to is the place of brokenness. To be broken is to have some form of injury that makes the object less than a whole. In spiritual parlance, it is to break or subdue the flesh in order to be more profitable to the kingdom of God. Why do you need to be broken?...More

DELIVERANCE: DIVINE ASSURANCE

When God speaks, that settles it. He reigns forever. When He gives a decree, it is forever. When He says "surely", it means surely. When He says surely, it will be well with me, nobody can change it. He says surely, by His stripes I am healed, and nobody can change this. He says surely, everything I do shall...More
