Who is Jesus?

No-one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.

Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God.

John 1:18; Roman 9:5.

Who is Jesus?
Some years ago a book appeared entitled "How did Jesus become God?" The way this title presents Jesus Christ is entirely false; the Bible states the very opposite: God became Man in Jesus, His only begotten Son. Indeed, "the Word became flesh and dwelt among us" (John 1:14). This verse, which is the basis of Christian faith, contains a truth that is surprising and a mystery at the same time. Jesus is designated as "the Word", being the expression of God's thoughts (John 1:2). He is the "image of the invisible God"(Colossians 1:15).

He is God and has become Man, conceived by the Holy Spirit. Jesus, whose existence is eternal, took a human body. That is a mystery that has been revealed to mankind: "God was manifested in the flesh" (1 Timothy 3:16). He truly became a man and lived in our midst. In Christ "all the fullness of the Godhead" dwells bodily. This divine glory shines forth in the life of the Man Jesus Christ with such effulgence that for more than 2,000 years it has been leading sinners like us to the conviction that Jesus is more than just a man; as God and Man in perfection, He is indeed the only begotten Son of God, the Saviour who came to bring divine forgiveness, salvation and eternal life. He would dearly make Himself known to you, as He did to His disciples Peter, who exclaimed: "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God" (Matthew 16:16).

Today's reading: Genesis 41:37-52 · Psalms 27:1-6

TRANSFORMED BY THE NEW CREATION

One of the most profound wonders you will find anywhere in the world is the wonder of a transformed life. When a person who was demon-possessed suddenly becomes a vessel unto honour, what wonder can be greater than this? Such a person remains a wonder throughout his or her lifetime. This was the testimony of Mary...More
