Revenge or grace? (2)

When we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to himself, to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he made us accepted in the beloved.

Romans 5:10; Ephesians 1:3.5.6.

Revenge or grace? (2)
How did the Korean pastor Yang-won Son react to the news that the murderers of his sons were sought for execution? He acted far differently from what one might expect: he sent his 13-year-old daughter Rahel into the town to the place where the executions were about to take place, bearing a message that was to shock everyone present:

"My father requests that the one who shot my brothers " She stopped to swallow her tears, then bit her lips and continued, "should not be killed or mistreated." She broke down in tears. Her father's request went even further: he asked that he might be permitted to adopt the murderer as his son. His request was finally agreed to. The murderer Chalsun was adopted and taken in by the family.

This moving incident made many people think: it was pure grace, a gift for a murderer who deserved the very opposite.

This is precisely the incredible chance that God offers everyone. We are all guilty of the death of His Son, Jesus Christ, whether we are conscious of it or not. He died for us. Now God wishes to receive us as His children who will then belong to His family and become His heirs. That is the great, inconceivable grace of God!

NEGATIVE LIVING

Life comprises of positive and negative elements. As a matter of necessity, it is not good for someone to opt for negative living. The fact that Jesus Christ was destined to die for the sin of the whole world does not exonerate Judas Iscariot from the evil that led him to the idea of betraying the King of Glory....More
