Looking on Christ

But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.
Acts 7:55

Looking on Christ
Living with the Lord Jesus in everyday life costs us something. Instead of pursuing our own desires, we want to do His will. We do not seek our own glory but desire to please Him. Instead of joining in the celebrations of unbelievers, we try to win our fellow men for the Saviour, which often brings us ridicule and contempt.

Where do we get the strength to deny ourselves and endure the rejection of the world? From Christ in heaven! When we look to Him in faith, we recognise what honour and glory He possesses.

o Jesus Christ has been exalted to the highest place in heaven at the right hand of God. The thought of His heavenly glory spurs us to give Him the first place in our lives as well.
The Lord who was once despised on earth is now at the centre of heavenly glory. Looking upon His glorious person makes it easier for us to faithfully follow Him and willingly testify of Him before men.
o Stephen provides us with an encouraging example of this. He is surrounded by people who hate Jesus Christ and who are hostile to His disciples. How can Stephen forget himself in this situation and remain faithful to his Lord? He looks up to heaven and sees Jesus standing at the right hand of God. This gives him the strength to bear witness to Christ until his last breath.

THE GREAT DELIVERER

God is great but He humbles Himself to the level of His children to deliver them. The one who will deliver you must be stronger than the enemy holding you captive. The reason He is able to deliver is because He is stronger than all your enemies put together. This is why in

NO FOOD FOR THE LAZY MAN

Laziness is not a Christian virtue in any way. Our Lord Jesus Christ made this clear by His lifestyle of hard work while here on earth. A lifestyle of laziness is outrightly rejected in Scriptures typified by today's Bible reading. It is amazing that some people are still expecting God to rain manna on earth! It does...More
