Grateful remembrance

Do this in remembrance of Me.
Luke 22:19

Grateful remembrance
The Lord Jesus has given us His memorial supper so that we may remember Him and His death on the cross every Sunday. We should never forget what happened at Golgotha, on the cross of Calvary:

o We reflect on the love of God. He did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us unto death. That’s how much God loved us!

o We contemplate the sufferings of the Saviour which He endured from men. How it pained Him when they tormented and mocked Him!

o We admire Jesus Christ as He prayed for His enemies: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”

o We can never fathom what it was for Him to be forsaken by God in the three hours of darkness. He cried out to Him and received no answer.

o We marvel at the obedience and dedication of the Lord Jesus to His God and Father unto death. He suffered and died to glorify Him.

o We remember that the man Christ Jesus laid down His life in divine power to complete the work of redemption.

o It constantly becomes clear to us: the Saviour had to die for us and for our sins so that we could be saved. Such was the price of our redemption!

o We rejoice that God raised the Lord Jesus from the dead on the third day to attest to the validity of His redemptive work.

Today’s reading: Jeremiah 3:1-25 · Luke 20:1-8

As high as God is and even though He has His throne in Heaven, yet He condescends to meet the needs of His children on earth (Isaiah...More

DIVINE CHAMPION 2

Yesterday we discovered that our Lord Jesus Christ is the number one champion and that He makes His people champions. We also saw that a divine champion is a person raised up and supported by God.

One attribute of a champion is strength. The divine champion is one who receives divine strengthening....More

EX-CHAMPION?

Although it is an unpleasant experience to be a defeated contender, becoming an ex-champion is a much more grievous experience. When you are not yet a champion, only a few people pay attention to you. But by the time you become a champion, you will be on the radar of many people, including your enemies. A champion has...More
