With great jubilation in the NASA control centre...

How then can man be righteous before God? ... Even ... the stars are not pure in His sight; how much less man, who is a maggot, and the son of man, who is a worm?
Job 25:4–6

With great jubilation in the NASA control centre, on February 18, 2021, the Mars rover “Perseverance” landed on the red planet. What drives us small humans to such a costly and risky undertaking?

How apt is the comparison in today’s verse!

In view of the vastness of the universe, do we, with our limited horizon, not resemble a worm trying to cross an asphalt road? Nevertheless, the eternal Creator God is not indifferent to us. No, He cares about us! He has already called to His earthly people Israel, “Fear not, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel! I will help you, says the LORD” (Isaiah 41:14).

But how will the great Creator help us? When the Son of God came to earth as a man, He explained it to Nicodemus: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:14).

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, gave His life for us on the cross so that we may be saved and receive eternal life. For this, He had to become a man, even a worm, as predicted in Psalm 22:6: “But I am a worm, and not man”. Thus, everyone who believes in the Lord Jesus can testify, like Paul:

“The Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).

Today’s reading: Jeremiah 20:1-18 · Luke 24:1-12

My times are in Your hand'Psalms 31:15 NKJV

The Psalm writes, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, "You are my God." My times are in your hand' (vv. 14-15 NKJV). As you walk with God you'll find that you spend more time waiting than you do receiving. And when you receive what you're waiting for, then...More

A Statement Of Purpose To Live By

Always give yourselves fully.' 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV

Next time you pass a McDonald's, think about this statement from the one of the founders: Ray Kroc. Press on! Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent....More
