God loves me as I am

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8

God loves me as I am
“For as long as I can remember, I had a deep longing for unconditional love that would accept me as I am. However, I was always told that one has to fight and work for everything in life. I had loving parents. Still, I thought I had to earn their affection through good performance. Later, I did everything to win the heart of a nice man. We married but our marriage didn’t go as I had hoped – it eventually broke down. That’s when I became anorexic. This addiction brought me to the brink of death. I cried out to God, ‘If you exist, help me! I have totally failed. I can’t go on!’

“Soon after, I actually came out of anorexia. God showed me His love – although I couldn’t do anything to earn it. Yet I felt that something stood between me and my Creator. Again, I prayed, ‘Please help me to understand what it is.’ When friends invited me to a Bible study group, I went. There I realised what separated me from God: my sins. But I also learned about God’s unconditional love: He Himself gave His Son to die for me so that I could be freed from my guilt. With deep gratitude, I opened my heart to God’s love and believed that the Lord Jesus Christ took the punishment for my sins.”

The path this woman took to the loving heart of God is also open to you today!

Today’s reading: 2 Chronicles 1:1-17 · 1 Timothy 6:1-10

BE TRULY ROOTED

You can overcome the attacks of the devil if you can simply obey God's Word. Before taking on the devil, be sure of your salvation because the salvation of many today is questionable. Many are pretenders and have really never answered the altar call for salvation at any time. At the time they should be answering...More

YOUR FIRST LOVE

As a Christian, your heart ought to be aglow with genuine love for Christ, unless you are not genuinely saved as a result of having not truly repented from your sins even though you have confessed Jesus. At the new birth experience, the Holy Spirit regenerates our spirit and fills it with deep and pure love for...More

Imitation or Genuine?

"All the prophets were prophesying before them. Then Zedekiah said, 'This is what the LORD says' All the prophets were prophesying this as well." - 1 Kings 22:10-12 NASB

Zedekiah understood what it meant to be a prophet. He knew the vocabulary and how to deliver prophecies. In similar ways, others...More
