We might wonder how the life of...

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
1 Peter 1:3.

We might wonder how the life of a man who walked this earth 2,000 years ago can concern us. However, it was Jesus Christ, who opened the way for a fresh relationship with God, a new attitude towards life and hope regarding death and deliverance from judgment.

When we have to do with Jesus Christ, we are not face to face with an ordinary human being but before God Himself, who shows us the way of salvation. God chose to act supremely by the intermediary of Jesus Christ through His death and resurrection. Jesus made a new relationship between God and ourselves possible. The crucifixion of Jesus is not just an event of past history. It has since constituted the foundation on which the believer's new life rests (cf. 1 Peter 2:24). Without the work on the cross there would be no salvation for us today. Christ's sacrifice was the price of the redemption that God offers everybody.

The fact is that in Jesus Christ there is something attractive that has survived centuries and intrigued countless persons. His teaching about love cannot leave us unfeeling. The authority with which He speaks on man's deep-seated problems challenges us. His death seems to us so unjust, the testimonies of His resurrection so amazing. Yet it is precisely His death and resurrection that make what concerns Him my own concern. Do I believe it?

Today's reading: Leviticus 13:29-44 · Psalms 59:10-17

CONDESCEND!

After seeing their plight, hearing their cries and feeling their pains, God came down to rescue the Israelites from Egypt. Our God is a mobile God. He comes down to deliver His own. As high as God is and even though He has His throne in Heaven, yet He condescends to meet the needs of His children on earth (Isaiah...More

DIVINE CHAMPION 2

One attribute of a champion is strength. The divine champion is one who receives divine strengthening....More

EX-CHAMPION?

Although it is an unpleasant experience to be a defeated contender, becoming an ex-champion is a much more grievous experience. When you are not yet a champion, only a few people pay attention to you. But by the time you become a champion, you will be on the radar of many people, including your enemies. A champion has...More
