MANY ADVISORS

READ:

Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
-Proverbs 15:22

THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
2 Kings 24-25
John 5:1-24

The fifteenth-century theologian, Thomas a Kempis said, "Who is wise as to have perfect knowledge of all things? Therefore, trust not too much of your own opinion, but be ready also to hear the opinions of others. Though your own opinion be good, yet if for the love of God you forgo it and follow that of another, you shall the more profit thereby." Thomas recognised the importance of seeking the opinions of trusted advisors when making plans for his life. ]
In order to determine God's course for life, the wise person should open up to several avenues of counsel through which God will bring His guiding wisdom. When a person seeks the wise counsel of others, he shows his realisation that he might be overlooking some important factors in his decisions.
Solomon, the wisest man in Israel, wrote about how important it is to have counsel from others: "Without counsel, plans go awry, but in the multitude of counselors, they are established" (Proverbs 15:22).
The Lord is the Wonderful Counsellor (Isaiah 9:6), and He desires to protect through his wise advisors. Seek them out and thank God for them. Let them help you discover a clearer picture of His plan for your life. - Mavin Williams
Wonderful, wonderful, Jesus is to me,
Counsellor, Prince of Peace, Mighty God is He;
Saving me, keeping me from all sin and shame,
Wonderful is my Redeemer, praise Him Name! - Lillenas

If you seek wise counsel, you multiply your chances of sound decisions.

Speaking of aspirations and ambitions in life, if all you can achieve on earth is for your name to enter and remain in the most important book in the universe - the Book of Life, it is worth it. On the Day of Judgment, many whose names were in earth's halls of fame will be shown the way to the eternal lake of fire...More

BE STRONG

You don't charge someone to be strong if there is no task to be performed or if pressure is not required, either for motion or putting up resistance against an opposing force. In the physical realm, mere movement requires strength. This explains why a sick person or a person just recovering from an ailment finds it...More

God often proves to be other than people think...

Acts 5:4-5

God often proves to be other than people think. Here, for example, death struck a man suddenly for lying before God. Is God therefore severe, when he makes use of His power unreservedly towards the weak?
Let us first briefly examine what preceded this judgment. Holy zeal for the...More
