SEEING UPSIDE DOWN READ: But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. -Matthew 9:12 THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Isaiah 45-46 1 Thessalonians 3 In India, I worshipped among leprosy patients. Most of the medical advances in the treatment of leprosy came about as a result of missionary doctors, who were willing to live among patients and risk exposure to the dreaded disease. As a result, churches thrive in most major leprosy centres. In Myanmar, I visited homes for AIDS orphans, where Christian volunteers try to replace parental affection the disease has stolen away. The most rousing church services I have attended took place in Chile and Peru, in the bowels of a federal prison. Among the lowly, the wretched, the downtrodden - the rejected of this world - God's kingdom takes root. Taking God's assignment seriously means that we must learn to look at the world upside down as Jesus did. Instead of seeking out people with resources who can do us favours, we look for people with few resources. Instead of the strong, we find the weak; instead of the healthy, the sick. Instead of the spiritual, the sinful. Is this not how God reconciles the world to Himself? "It is not the healthy who needs a doctor, but the sickI have not come to call the righteous, but sinners" (Matthew 9:12-13 NIV). To gain a new perspective, look at the world upside down as Jesus did. - Philip Yancey We know, Jesus, that You sought the lowly ones who were rejected by others. We want to be like You. Open our eyes and show us how. We long to be used by You to bless others. Do you see a needy world through the eyes of Jesus? |

Now before the feast of the Passover, Jesus, knowing that His hour had come that He should depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, loved them to the end (John 13:1) The opening verse of chapter 13 is introductory to the last discourses of our Lord. The...More |
Open Heavens for Thursday, December 5, 2013 by Pastor E.A Adeboye UNCOVERING EVIL The presence of the supernatural power of God in a church can take that church beyond limits. It can also uproot the presence of evil in the midst of Gods children. In Acts 5, a couple were uprooted through this. If we are going to sanitise the church, we need the Holy Spirit. Just as we need Him to heal, save...More |

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; ...More |

Vedder Jr THE NON-LYING GOD (2) In the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the ages of time, but has manifested in its own due season His word. (Titus 1:2-3) THE NON-LYING GOD (2) I can lie. Titus could too, and so could the Cretans. But God can not lie. I can deceive. But...More |
