Living a Life of Hope (5)

Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit upon Him, and He will declare justice to the Gentiles. He will not quarrel nor cry out, nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets. A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench, till He sends forth justice to victory; and in His name Gentiles will trust.
Matthew 12:18-21 NKJV

Living a Life of Hope (5)
These verses quoted from the prophet Isaiah remind us clearly that true hope is found in no one else but the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus came that mankind might have hope! We were lost in our sin, without help, without hope, and without God. But God sent His Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that we might have life through His death upon the cross. His death, burial, and resurrection have brought the victory we needed. He is our hope!

He alone can offer eternal life and perfect rest for our souls and consciences (Jn. 4:14; Mt. 11:28-29). He alone is able to provide permanent satisfaction (Jn. 6:35), perfect guidance (Jn. 8:12), and absolute protection (Jn. 10:7-14). He, and He alone, is the hope for man's lost condition (Rom. 3:23-24; 6:23). While many in the world throughout time have claimed to be saviors, there is only one who is truly the Savior of the world (Lk. 2:11). Outside of Him, you and I have no hope, and without Him we are helpless, homeless, and hopeless!

While so many in the world today look for something or someone to put hope in, those who put their hope in the finished work of the Lord Jesus on the cross of Calvary can be assured of His ongoing care and kindness, for "He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" (Rom. 8:32). He is our hope to find forgiveness for the past, assurance for the future, and strength for the present!
