Worthy of Unceasing Praise

Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your tabernacle. Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy; and on the harp I will praise You, O God, my God.
Psalm 43:3–4

Worthy of Unceasing Praise
God must be, and is, the Originator of all that is good. If one is to be led rightly, this must be by God sending out His light and His truth to lead in His own wise way. The truth does not leave me to decide for myself what is the best way to be led. If I receive the truth of God, it will lead me unerringly to God’s holy hill and to God’s tabernacle. His hill is high above the common level, as expressed in Ephesians 1:3: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.”

More than this, the believer is brought by the truth of God to God’s holy tabernacle, the place where God dwells in the person of His beloved Son. Where is this tabernacle today? It is in the house of God, the Church of the Living God, the pillar and ground of the truth (1 Tim. 3:15). This is not a material house but a spiritual house, in which we might offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ (1 Pet. 2:5).

Well might we respond at the altar of God—the altar speaking of Christ Himself—with gladness of joy, praising Him whom we know as “God, my God.” Who is this God? It is God revealed in His blessed Son, the Lord Jesus, who is worthy of unceasing praise and worship.

L. M. Grant

Notes of gladness, songs unceasing,
Hymns of everlasting praise,
Psalms of glory, joy increasing,
Through God’s endless day of days!

CAN SATAN RIGHTLY ACCUSE YOU?

Besides discouragement, another weapon Satan uses often against believers is their weaknesses. He simply studies an individual for a period of time and not long after, he identifies the fellow's weakness and capitalizes on it. Take for instance Peter. Satan discovered that Peter is a cowardly person-lacking in...More

DON'T KILL YOURSELF FOR NOTHING

Do hope you are learning from our meditations through Psalm 73. It pictures to us the reality of everyday living. I do hope you are realizing that after all there is no point envying the prosperous wicked. Do not kill yourself for nothing. You have your life to live. Do not be a puppet dancing the...More

Hudson Taylor...

John 19:30

The parents of Hudson Taylor (1832-1905), the well-known missionary in China, were believers. From their example, he noticed early in life how helpful prayer and the Bible are.
His parents' exemplary life impressed him, and he endeavoured to be as good a Christian as they were....More
