Hear Him! (2)

And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!”
Luke 9:35

Hear Him! (2)
Listen again, the Father says, “Hear Him!” Ah, friend, it is life to hear the voice of Jesus. To you He says, “The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live” (Jn. 5:25). And if you hear His voice, it will be life to your dead soul. “Hear, and your soul shall live,” says Scripture, by the pen of Isaiah (Isa. 55:3). Again the apostle Peter says, “Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you. And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people’” (Acts 3:22–23).

Jesus was that Prophet. Have you heard Him? I ask, for “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Rom. 10:17). He rose from the dead, and now from the heavenly glory He says, “Look to Me, and be saved” (Isa. 45:22); “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Mt. 11:28). And the Father says concerning Him, “Hear Him!” Ah, friend, have you heard Him?

The effect of this word from the Father was very great on these three men. They felt that they had missed God’s mind entirely. But “Jesus came and touched them, and said, ‘Arise, and do not be afraid’” (Mt. 17:7). Are you troubled, and trembling, and feeling anxious, because you have missed the mind of the Lord, and missed blessing by not hearing Him and loving Him? “Jesus came and touched them, and said, ‘Arise, and do not be afraid.’” He is not changed. He is the same Jesus now. He filled their hearts with peace, not fear. He says to you, as to them, “Arise, and do not be afraid.” That is what the Savior says to a troubled soul.

OF KEYS AND DOORS

Every apartment or compartment with a lock has its key. It takes a key to open the gate of a house and several keys to enter the house its rooms. If you have fridge, car or wardrobe, you will equally have their keys. From the foregoing therefore, it is apparent that several good things with value have their...More

APPLY THE KEY

Every blessing worth its salt requires a key without which the seeker cannot access it. While some people have never experienced open doors, others once did, but the doors hitherto opened to them have been shut. In
