Christ in Glory (2)

We see Jesus … crowned with glory and honor.
Hebrews 2:9

Christ in Glory (2)
We see Jesus crowned with glory and honor, and it is as the victorious and crowned Savior that He is leading many sons to glory (Heb. 2:10). Glory is our destiny, for we are following the One who is there. This is all real to men of faith but not to those who walk by sight, and we must be on our guard against the glamour of “the things that are seen” which dims faith’s keen vision, and often betrays the Christian into fearing men, or into admiring and following them. But the greatest of men can offer us no destiny. Death is their master; it mocks at their promises, and shatters all their hopes and ambitions. Every day is a witness to this.

The boast of heraldry, the pomp of pow’r,

And all that beauty, all that wealth e’er gave,

Awaits alike th’ inevitable hour,

The paths of glory lead but to the grave.

There is no hope beyond the grave but in Christ. He has overthrown death, and destroyed him who had the power of it, which is the devil, that He might deliver those who through fear of it were all their lifetime subject to bondage (2:14–15). And in Him we have a hope that makes not ashamed. He will not fail us, nor be untrue to God who has entrusted His sons to His care. He is not only a great Leader, but He is “a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God,” and He ever lives to make intercession for us. His Name is glorious, and His arm is omnipotent, but His heart is tender. He has won our admiration by His exploits, but He has won our hearts by His love.

J. T. Mawson

Peace with God—for Christ’s in glory,

God is just and God is love;
Oh! how blessed is the story,

That we’re brought to God above.

A. P. Cecil

OF KEYS AND DOORS

Every apartment or compartment with a lock has its key. It takes a key to open the gate of a house and several keys to enter the house its rooms. If you have fridge, car or wardrobe, you will equally have their keys. From the foregoing therefore, it is apparent that several good things with value have their...More

APPLY THE KEY

Every blessing worth its salt requires a key without which the seeker cannot access it. While some people have never experienced open doors, others once did, but the doors hitherto opened to them have been shut. In

Get Ready To Move (2)

I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised'
Joshua 1:3 NIV

Can you imagine how Joshua felt stepping into Moses' shoes? He needed assurance, so God told him: 1) I will give you every place where you set your foot.' In other words, just step out in faith and claim it....More
