God Answers a Seeker

Behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship.
Acts 8:27

God Answers a Seeker
How marvelous and encouraging to know that God sees each person in their own special need. God sees a man, a eunuch, that is to say one who was fruitless, even though he was a man of great authority in the queen’s palace, and probably quite rich. He had traveled a long distance from his land, Ethiopia, to Jerusalem, a distance of about 2500 km (1600 miles), and was returning home again. He had gone to the place where Jehovah had put His name, but He was no longer there, and, not having found what he was looking for, the eunuch returned home.

He had a book and was searching for answers. He had gone to Jerusalem, the place where he thought he could find the answer, but all he encountered was an unfulfilling religious system. And now he was in a desert place, in the middle of nowhere, so to speak, reading his book and looking for answers, but had found none. But God saw him and sent a special messenger named Phillip to this unnamed eunuch who engaged in a conversation with him. He had been reading his book precisely in a portion that spoke about the Lord Jesus. Philip asked the eunuch if he understood what he was reading, and the eunuch replied that he did not. He invited Philip into his chariot, and Philip, starting from that same scripture, preached “Jesus” to the eunuch. As they traveled along the road, Philip showed the eunuch, who now believed “that Jesus Christ is the Son of God,” many things (Acts 8:37).

He now had found what he was looking for, and he returned to Ethiopia rejoicing. He had found Jesus! How beautiful to see that God saw the eunuch in his need and answered that need! God fulfilled His promise: “You will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jer. 29:13).

1 Chronicles 28:9

The Psalmist prayed, Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting' (Psalms 139:23-24 NKJV). If you're wise you'll...More

HOW PROPHETIC ARE YOUR NAMES?

The name you bear is very important because it serves as your identity and your future may be connected to it. The name a person bears is sometimes indicative of the experiences he or she will encounter in life. Take for instance Moses: this name means "drawn out of water"

Look For Teaching Moments

What do these stones mean?' Joshua 4:21 NIV

One of the most effective ways to teach is through teaching moments'. Jesus did that. When a fig tree didn't produce fruit, He cursed it and it immediately withered up. That got the disciples' attention (see Matthew 21:18-22). Then He explained that unless...More
