Three Fires (1)

Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting, and came out and blessed the people; and the glory of Jehovah appeared to all the people. And there went out fire from before Jehovah, and consumed on the altar the burnt-offering, and the pieces of fat; and all the people saw it, and they shouted, and fell on their face.
Leviticus 9:23-24

Three Fires (1)
Jehovah in His mercy had redeemed His people. He then guided them by His strength to His holy habitation. From His dwelling place He opened up to them the rich treasures of His heart. The early chapters of Leviticus in a typical way speak of the glories of Christ and His great sacrifice. God delights to see His redeemed people approach Him with their hands and hearts filled with Christ. And when they bring what they have appropriated of Christ for themselves, and present this to God, a sweet fragrance rises up to God the Father for His eternal delight.

God not only sees perfections in Christ and infinite virtue in His blood, but He also sees His people clothed in these same perfections and standing before Him according to His estimate of that precious blood. What wonderful grace!

Fire was the token that God gave, indicating His acceptance of the sacrifice. This consuming fire coming from before the Lord was the witness of God approving and accepting it. And on the basis of that sacrifice, God can come forth in blessing toward His people. This is typified by Moses and Aaron coming with uplifted hands and blessing the people .

Likewise today, the believer stands accepted in the Beloved, accepted in Him whom God has accepted, and whom He has given all power and glory. He has set Him as Head over all in the heavens, from whence He now dispenses gifts and blessings to His people.

CONDESCEND!

After seeing their plight, hearing their cries and feeling their pains, God came down to rescue the Israelites from Egypt. Our God is a mobile God. He comes down to deliver His own. As high as God is and even though He has His throne in Heaven, yet He condescends to meet the needs of His children on earth (Isaiah...More

DIVINE CHAMPION 2

One attribute of a champion is strength. The divine champion is one who receives divine strengthening....More

EX-CHAMPION?

Although it is an unpleasant experience to be a defeated contender, becoming an ex-champion is a much more grievous experience. When you are not yet a champion, only a few people pay attention to you. But by the time you become a champion, you will be on the radar of many people, including your enemies. A champion has...More
