Worship to the Father and the Son

Every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: "Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!"
Revelation 5:13

Worship to the Father and the Son
This magnificent ascription of adoration anticipates a future day when every creature—heavenly, earthly, and infernal—will give due honor to the God of eternal glory and to the Lamb. Even those eternally lost will do so, though not with responsive hearts.

The awesome majesty of Him who sits on the throne is intended to impress the inmost depths of our souls. His throne of eternal glory and authority shows Him to be sanctified above and beyond all others. It is He whose word is pure and true and absolute. He can never give His glory to another.

Yet in marvelous and precious contrast to this is the lowly humiliation of the Lamb of sacrifice, the blessed Lord Jesus Christ. He is displayed to us in this significant way as the One who in wonderful grace has given Himself to bear the awful load of our sin and guilt, taking the lowest place in order to redeem sinners to God by the shedding of His precious blood.

These two themes draw forth the adoration of the universe. Blessing, honor, glory, and might are ascribed to God and to the Lord Jesus to the ages of ages. Even now, however, believers have the joy of anticipating that future day in giving their heartfelt worship and adoration to the Father and to His beloved Son.

The Living God upon the throne, magnificent in glory,

In holy, righteous power made known; we worship and adore Thee

The Lamb who once was crucified, Thy precious work completed

Now raised from death and glorified in brightest glory seated

To Thee our thankful hearts we raise in loving adoration:

Worthy art Thou of endless praise and endless exaltation.

BE TRULY ROOTED

You can overcome the attacks of the devil if you can simply obey God's Word. Before taking on the devil, be sure of your salvation because the salvation of many today is questionable. Many are pretenders and have really never answered the altar call for salvation at any time. At the time they should be answering...More

YOUR FIRST LOVE

As a Christian, your heart ought to be aglow with genuine love for Christ, unless you are not genuinely saved as a result of having not truly repented from your sins even though you have confessed Jesus. At the new birth experience, the Holy Spirit regenerates our spirit and fills it with deep and pure love for...More

Imitation or Genuine?

"All the prophets were prophesying before them. Then Zedekiah said, 'This is what the LORD says' All the prophets were prophesying this as well." - 1 Kings 22:10-12 NASB

Zedekiah understood what it meant to be a prophet. He knew the vocabulary and how to deliver prophecies. In similar ways, others...More
