God Blesses the Faith of Individuals

The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.
2 Chronicles 16:9

God Blesses the Faith of Individuals
Looking around us we could easily get discouraged. Attendance at the meetings is low, few are actively involved; there is a lot to be done but few to help. But the Lord calls individuals to serve Him, maybe especially so in difficult and discouraging times. When Peter asked the Lord, "What about this man?" pointing to John, the Lord answered him by saying, Never mind him, "you follow Me."

It was an individual call and responsibility of Peter to follow the Lord, as it was for many individuals. Jonah was called to go to Nineveh; David, when going out against Goliath didn't call his three brothers, saying, "Come on guys, let's go fight the giant"; no, he went out himself. Philip met the Ethiopian when alone; Esther went in before the king; and even Noah, when called to build the ark, did so (although he must have had some help).

God took note and used faithful individuals of all ages: a young couple, not yet married, Joseph and Mary, were used by God; also a middle-aged couple, Zachariah and Elizabeth; as well as an elderly prophetess, Anna.

All of these people lived in challenging times of oppression and spiritual mediocrity, but they did not allow these circumstances to distract them from serving the Lord. Nineveh was spared; Goliath and the Philistines were defeated; a single soul, the Ethiopian, was saved; humanity was spared through the salvation of eight people. By their obedience to the call of God, their actions brought great blessing to many and honor and glory to God. May these encourage us to go on for the Lord as individuals who desire to please Him, along with others of the same heart.

GOD PROMOTES

When God set out to deliver the children of Israel from Egypt, it was to take them out of captivity and bondage and to lift them up. God has come to take you out of your current location in the miry clay to your promised land - a land flowing with milk and honey. This simply tells us that the God of Abraham, Isaac...More

TRAIN UP YOUR CHILD 1

One major undoing of modern civilized society is an abounding generation of untrained children. This trend did not just start, but has been on for some time now. The result is that many untrained children of few years back have become parents themselves. It is the multiplier effect of their lack of proper home...More

A LIBERAL HEART?

Read:
, God asked the widow to feed the prophet before taking care of herself. At the end of the day, what was not enough became more than enough. To what extent do you practice giving as an individual, family, church or nation?

Those who never give will continue to beg, if you desire to...More

Hebrews 11:24-28

Author Zora Neale Hurston wrote a book titled Moses, Man of the Mountain. Published in 1939, it retells the story of Moses and the Exodus. Hurston altered details of the story for her own purposes, weaving in allusions to African American history, folklore, and song. She reflected...More
