We See Jesus

But we see Jesus crowned with glory and honor.
Hebrews 2:9

We See Jesus
When we focus on our Lord Jesus, we must include thoughts of His suffering at Calvary. That work opened the way to a relationship with Him, providing for the many privileges from the divine side. But we do not remain at Calvary. We cannot even stay by the empty tomb. At the cross, we find it empty. If we go to the tomb, it is also empty. In either case we are concerned with Christ as dead. However, if by faith, we look into heaven, we see the exalted Man, crowned with glory and honor. Knowing that the cross is empty and the tomb is empty, that sight provokes our rejoicing and promotes worship. In looking into heaven there is investment in the present and the future realities.

As children, we remember what Calvary meant for us, the privileges brought to us. Children concentrate with good reason on His sufferings at the hands of man; they may see His resurrection and His coming again. For children, the rapture is leaving this evil world, going to heaven, even getting a new body.

On the other hand, sons think on Christ's death in what it means also for God and for Christ. Sons may think on His sufferings at the hands of man, but they also go on to His sufferings at the hand of God, therefore delighting in His exaltation and His coming kingdom rule. For sons the rapture also means that Christ will receive the Bride for whom He suffered and also love His appearing (2 Tim. 4:8). It is a matter of maturity.

Hadley Hall

Enemies were we, and rebels, ruined, wretched, and undone;Thou didst give, from wrath to save us, for Thy foes Thine only Son.Now, oh, joy beyond all telling, foes no more, but sons are we,Children in a Father's presence, blest in Him, and loved as He.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

It is one thing to receive the anointing and another to keep growing on it. There are people who had the anointing, but today, everything has virtually ebbed out. It is possible to connect with the Holy Spirit and to continue to flow in the power of the anointing even at increasing levels. If this is your desire,...More

TOUCH NOT

In today's Bible reading, while David and his men were away, the Amalekites invaded Ziklag, defeated the city and set it on fire, after which they took members of their families - wives, sons and daughters as captives. When they returned and saw the situation of Ziklag, David and his men were really distressed,...More
