Noah Walked With God

Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and had a son. And he called his name Noah, saying, "This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord has cursed."

Noah walked with God.

Genesis 5:28-29; Genesis 6:9

Noah Walked With God
Lamech, Noah's father, felt the burden and effect of sin having entered into the world. God had said to Adam, "Cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life" (Gen. 3:17). And "we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body" (Rom. 8:23). While in these bodies, we experience pain, sorrow, suffering, and affliction, and we also experience reproach for the cause of Christ. Nevertheless, we will be changed and receive a body fashioned like Christ's body of glory. This is indeed a blessed hope, a glorious prospect, of which Old Testament Enoch was a foreshadowing and an encouragement to walk with God while waiting to be caught up to be with Christ in glory.

Lamech was also comforted. Lamech lived together with Enoch about one hundred years, and Noah was born about eighty-two years after Enoch had been caught up to heaven. It is also of interest to note that Lamech lived together with Adam about one hundred and fifty years, and he died just before the flood. So we see how the lives of the patriarchs overlapped, thereby enabling a clear testimony to be given to the living and true God, so that man is without excuse.

Noah saw the wickedness all around him, but he found the secret of strength to overcome. Noah walked with God, who testified of him that he was a just man, perfect in his generations. Yes, Noah walked with God. Does the Lord look on us with favor and see that we are walking in His ways? May we bring joy to His heart.

FALSE PROPHETS AND THEIR PROPHECIES-THE FALSE PROPHET

And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the...More

EVERYONE NEEDS A MIRACLE

Some years ago, I was invited to be the guest speaker at a garden party in an exclusive, highbrow residential area. Because I arrived at the venue quite early, I was made to sit for a while in the house of my host. The house was an exquisite parade of wealth and splendour. I had never seen such brazen display of...More

PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS

The bankruptcy that saves

None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him - for the redemption of their souls is costly, and it shall cease for ever.

You were not redeemed with silver or gold from your aimless conduct but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and...More
