Descended and Ascended for Us

He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.
Ephesians 4:10

Descended and Ascended for Us
In the fullness of time, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law (Gal. 4:4). The Word became flesh and dwelt among us; as the only-begotten Son in the Father's bosom, He made Him known (Jn. 1:14, 18). Yet at the same time, as the Son of Man, He was "up there" above time and space, saying, "No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven" (Jn. 3:13). Yet in His extreme sufferings on the cross, during the three hours of darkness, He cried out, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"

He was the perfect sin offering to wash us from our sins and to remove our sinful condition. There, He rendered inoperative all the powers of Satan and his armies with a complete victory (Col. 2:15; Heb. 2:14). How great He is! After He died, He was buried and laid in a virgin tomb. He had entered this world through the Virgin's pure womb and exited from this scene through a new tomb. From there, He arose on the third day in unparalleled victory. Praise God! After forty days, He ascended into heaven (Acts 1:9) to sit down at God's right hand, because He is God (Heb. 1:3). As a Man, He was lifted up and greeted by God when He entered the heavens and passed through them. He is above them and ministers there, all powers being subject to Him (1 Pet. 3:18-22)! Jesus promised His disciples He would come back after preparing a place for them, and He will do so Himself, in power (1 Th. 4:16; Jn. 14:1-3)!

We know Thee now exalted high,

Ourselves in Thee accepted; We wait the hour which now draws nigh,

Thy coming long expected.

THE GREAT DELIVERER

God is great but He humbles Himself to the level of His children to deliver them. The one who will deliver you must be stronger than the enemy holding you captive. The reason He is able to deliver is because He is stronger than all your enemies put together. This is why in

NO FOOD FOR THE LAZY MAN

Laziness is not a Christian virtue in any way. Our Lord Jesus Christ made this clear by His lifestyle of hard work while here on earth. A lifestyle of laziness is outrightly rejected in Scriptures typified by today's Bible reading. It is amazing that some people are still expecting God to rain manna on earth! It does...More
