Meditate Upon the Beloved

Unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful.
Isaiah 9:6

Meditate Upon the Beloved
As we know, this verse speaks about the Lord Jesus, so it begs the question, are we or have we ever been full of wonder at the Person of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?

When the queen of Sheba came to Jerusalem and she heard Solomon and saw his glory, "there was no more spirit in her"; in other words she was wonder-struck. Referring to this, the Lord applied it to Himself: that One greater than Solomon was there.

The Shulamite women in the Song of Solomon, when asked by the daughters of Jerusalem what was so special about her beloved, responded by starting with the exclamation that her beloved is "Chief among ten thousand." She ends her response with "Yes, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend" (Song 5:10, 16). Between these two statements she gives a beautiful description of her beloved, and when we understand the symbolism given in this passage it speaks to us in a wonderful way about the beauties of the Lord. It reminds us of His leadership, His humility, His work, His walk, His sweet words, His look of compassion, His strength, and His majesty; to his loved ones, His overall beauty.

Does the Lord enthrall us as did the Beloved to His beloved. For her to see these things she needed to be with him, to see him, to get to know him more and more. And so it is with us. Paul's desire was "that I may know Him"—not just about Him, but know Him! We too, need to spend time meditating on Him, on His Person, on His work, on His attributes, on His glory, on the things that distinguish Him from all others.

It is possible to connect with the Holy Spirit and to continue to flow in the power of the anointing even at increasing levels. If this is your desire,...More

TOUCH NOT

In today's Bible reading, while David and his men were away, the Amalekites invaded Ziklag, defeated the city and set it on fire, after which they took members of their families - wives, sons and daughters as captives. When they returned and saw the situation of Ziklag, David and his men were really distressed,...More
