Doing Good to All

Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. So they all ate and were filled, and twelve baskets of the leftover fragments were taken up by them.
Luke 9:16-17

Doing Good to All
Here we see the precious grace of the Lord Jesus beautifully displayed and seen here as a provision for the needs of every soul who will receive it. The five loaves and two fish are multiplied to meet the needs of all, with twelve baskets left over. As He blesses this provision with prayer to His God and Father, do we not see in this His heart of most tender care for the need of every soul, and a willingness to give freely to all who will receive? There is no favoritism, for He is "not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance" (2 Pet. 3:9).

What a precious example this is for us! Should we not seek, with earnest prayer, the blessing of God upon the provision which we are called to distribute to the need of every soul who will receive it? This true and real concern, even for the material needs of mankind, is one that should engage our hearts and our prayers much today. We see pressures increasing in the entire world, and we are to be prepared to do good to all men. But the spiritual hunger and thirst are so much greater still, and we have been blessed with the abundant provision of God for the need of the entire world. If our path must be narrow, yet may our hearts be expanded in desire for the blessing of all mankind. By His grace, let us maintain this spirit of faith in earnest, believing prayer.

"Let us not grow weary while doing good Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith" (Gal. 6:9-10).

Behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His name Jesus: for He shall save His people from their...More

TOTAL COMPLIANCE REQUIRED

When we teach about tithes and first fruits, some people think that it is the pastor's way of making money but they are making a great mistake. When you put God first, He will make sure that your blessings are irreversible. But if you decide to give Him second place in your life, you may not be happy to see what...More

FACING OUR PAST

Like Paul,we don't need to parade our failures or to pretend they didn't happen. Instead, we can thank the Lord that through His grace and power, our past is forgiven, our presence is changed, and our future is bright with hope for all he has prepared for us. - David...More
