The apostle Paul wrote these words to...

You put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man...and put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
Ephesians 4:22.24.

The apostle Paul wrote these words to Christians. There are people who consider themselves Christians because they have been christened or confirmed, or because they stand for Christian morals. Christ Himself, however, means nothing to them; so they lack the power to lead a Christian life.

A preacher once had a conversation with a businessman on one of his travels. Here is a summary of it:

"I hold with Christian morals," the businessman said, "but I can do without all the dogma." The preacher answered, "Being a businessman, you know that expenditure must not exceed income. Now Christian morals demand that we should give, not receive. Thou shalt love. Thou shalt serve. Thou shalt help. Where does the strength come from to fulfil all these demands? It doesn't come from us ourselves. To keep us from constant debts and final bankruptcy before God, only one form of income can help, and it comes from above."

"In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins" (1 John 4:10).

What an apt comparison! This income benefits all who accept God's gift of forgiveness and love. In no other way will they be able to radiate God's love in an unloving world.

Today's reading: Jeremiah 47:1-48:25 · Romans 12:16-21

THE GREAT DELIVERER

God is great but He humbles Himself to the level of His children to deliver them. The one who will deliver you must be stronger than the enemy holding you captive. The reason He is able to deliver is because He is stronger than all your enemies put together. This is why in

NO FOOD FOR THE LAZY MAN

Laziness is not a Christian virtue in any way. Our Lord Jesus Christ made this clear by His lifestyle of hard work while here on earth. A lifestyle of laziness is outrightly rejected in Scriptures typified by today's Bible reading. It is amazing that some people are still expecting God to rain manna on earth! It does...More
