A forgiving God

You are God, ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, abundant in kindness.
Nehemiah 9:17.

A forgiving God
A young man reproached an experienced Christian with this accusation: "What makes you claim that Christianity is the absolute truth? I do not believe that it matters to the Lord God whether one is a Moslem, a Buddhist or a Christian."

The aged Christian listened patiently and then said, "Your question was answered by the prophet Micah almost 3,000 years ago. He said: ‘Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity? You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.' (Micah 7:18.19). The forgiveness of sins is preached only in the Bible. There it says of Jesus Christ, ‘Who washed us from our sins in his own blood.' (Revelation 1:5). If you don't need your sins to be forgiven, then don't hesitate to become a Moslem. Otherwise I should advise you "

The Christian got no further. The young man had made off a quickly as he could. The final words were hanging in the air, as it were.

We should not evade this matter. Don't stop reading here! A decision must be made. Begin by praying to the Lord Jesus. Confess your sins before Him. Tell Him all that oppresses you. He will then forgive all your guilt and grant you eternal life. How happy is everyone who can say: "I, too, have experienced God's mercy."!

"Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all nations" (Luke 24:46.47).

Today's reading: Judges 7:1-8 · 2 Corinthians 7:1-9
