Conversion

to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.
Acts 26:18

Conversion
God causes the good news of His saving grace to be proclaimed and spread so that people will turn to Him. He accepts everyone who recognises his lost condition before Him and converts to Him with confession of his sins. The basis for this is the work of redemption that Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross.

Conversion to God is a decisive step for every human being. It affects the rest of life - and eternity.

It is a change from darkness to light: Before, we were in the sphere of the power of Satan, who tempts people to sin and holds them in his grip through the fear of death. Through personal faith in the Lord Jesus, however, we are freed from the power of the devil and brought to God. From now on we abide in the bright light of God's presence and are able to rejoice in His love.
At conversion another change takes place: when we confess our sins to God and believe in the Saviour, Jesus Christ, He takes away all our guilt and gives us a share in the blessings of God's people. Now we know that all our sins are forgiven, and we never have to fear divine judgment again. At the same time, we possess spiritual blessings: we are children of God, have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us and belong to the redeemed.

Today's reading: Numbers 19:1-10 · Matthew 12:22-37
