No one is excluded

The one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.
John 6:37

No one is excluded
In the lead-up to large sporting events a selection procedure often has to take place. Athletes are selected for the World Championships on the basis of good performances and results. There are many bitter disappointments when the selection criteria are not met.

Even when applying for a job, a multi-stage selection process is often used to choose the most suitable employee. Those who fall by the wayside in the race for the job are fobbed off with a polite letter. They then feel completely left out.

It is totally different with Jesus Christ. He promises, “The one who comes to Me, I will by no means cast out”. As Saviour, He invites everyone to come to Him with their sins. He wants to give them forgiveness and peace with God. This offer is for everyone – the rich and the poor, the respected and the despised.

The Son of God does not reject anyone who comes to Him with the guilt of his sins and accepts Him as personal Saviour. He listens to every prayer and sees everyone who believes in Him and puts their trust in Him.

Jesus Christ demands no performance standards, no money, and not even a good life. What He offers, He gives for free. That is why everyone has the opportunity to come to Him in order to receive eternal life through faith in Him.

Have you already accepted His invitation and made the decision for Him?

Today’s reading: Deuteronomy 12:20-31 · Matthew 25:31-46

CAN SATAN RIGHTLY ACCUSE YOU?

Besides discouragement, another weapon Satan uses often against believers is their weaknesses. He simply studies an individual for a period of time and not long after, he identifies the fellow's weakness and capitalizes on it. Take for instance Peter. Satan discovered that Peter is a cowardly person-lacking in...More

DON'T KILL YOURSELF FOR NOTHING

Do hope you are learning from our meditations through Psalm 73. It pictures to us the reality of everyday living. I do hope you are realizing that after all there is no point envying the prosperous wicked. Do not kill yourself for nothing. You have your life to live. Do not be a puppet dancing the...More

Hudson Taylor...

John 19:30

The parents of Hudson Taylor (1832-1905), the well-known missionary in China, were believers. From their example, he noticed early in life how helpful prayer and the Bible are.
His parents' exemplary life impressed him, and he endeavoured to be as good a Christian as they were....More
