Today's reading: Numbers 22:22-41

This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
John 2:11

An Italian evangelist once preached the gospel from the miracle that Jesus performed in Cana, when he turned water into wine. Afterwards, some of his former colleagues from the time before his conversion came to him and said, "That story of the water and the wine is pure nonsense. It cannot be true!" - "Oh?" he replied, "Then come with me, and I'll prove it to you."
He took them to his house and showed them the living-room. "There used to be a wobbly table here with liqueur glasses on it." Now they saw a cosy living-room. Then he showed them the bedroom. "Here we had some old mattresses on the floor." Now there were two clean beds made up there. Finally, he took them into a room where there was a good piano. "Look!" he said. "The Lord Jesus made all this new. We were hopelessly addicted to alcohol. Then Jesus entered our lives and changed everything. So why can't He turn water into wine?"
It is only those who do not know Jesus Christ, never having experienced Him in their lives, who question the miracles of the New Testament. Countless Christians can report how Christ has changed their lives fundamentally and freed them from their weaknesses. Jesus helped them out of the slough of despond. Whoever has experienced such a miracle with God's help will have no further doubt.
Maybe some of our readers feel hopelessly bound to some weakness. Then there is hope: Jesus will free them!

The Psalm writes, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, "You are my God." My times are in your hand' (vv. 14-15 NKJV). As you walk with God you'll find that you spend more time waiting than you do receiving. And when you receive what you're waiting for, then...More

A Statement Of Purpose To Live By

Always give yourselves fully.' 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV

Next time you pass a McDonald's, think about this statement from the one of the founders: Ray Kroc. Press on! Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent....More
