Springs of water in the desert

He turns a wilderness into pools of water, and dry land into watersprings.
Psalm 107:35

Springs of water in the desert
Our faithful Lord can turn the difficult experiences on the journey of faith into a source of blessing. This is one of the great miracles of God’s grace.

o When my path becomes lonely, He makes me feel His nearness all the more. He promises: “Indeed I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out” (Ezekiel 34:11). The time in His fellowship then becomes more precious and important to me. Isn’t this a great blessing?

o In hours of sorrow, I find rich comfort in His Word. My thoughts are directed to the future: “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain” (Revelation 21:4). This encourages me to continue step by step with the Lord.

o If I get into a situation where I don’t see what is the right way for me, He wants to be my advisor: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way you should go” (Isaiah 48:17). So I am not left to make decisions on my own.

o When I lack the energy for my tasks, I experience the way the Lord never abandons me. He declares to me: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). Therefore, I want to trust Him to give me the strength I need every day.

Today’s reading: 1 Kings 4:1-20 · John 5:1-9

LIFE IN ABUNDANCE 1

Under normal circumstances, no human being desires to be a nonentity. The various forces in the world however, are responsible for many people spending their entire life amounting to nothing and dwelling in the valley of not-well-to-do persons. The Almighty God Himself in making man did not intend for him to be a...More
