The Lord cares for you and me

He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Psalm 23:3

The Lord cares for you and me
Today’s verse describes how Jesus Christ cares for the spiritual well-being of each believer.

o When I am discouraged by a difficulty in my life, the Lord restores my soul. Through a Bible verse, He spurs me on to continue following Him and to persevere with Him in the problems. He directs my thoughts to the glorious heavenly goal and reminds me of His promise, “I am coming quickly”.
Perhaps He also uses moments of fellowship with other Christians to revive my faith. Paul speaks of this in Romans 1:12. He desired to meet the believers in Rome “that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me”.

o If I have taken a wrong path or even sinned, the Lord Jesus restores my soul. Through the Word of God, He shows me where I have fallen short and leads me to confession before God and, if necessary, before men. In this way, my relationship with Christ can be restored.
It is also comforting that He does not give up on me despite my failures. Even if I have taken a wayward path, He wants to guide me anew in paths of righteousness after my restoration. He has made it His business to bring me to His goal for me.

What a faithful and kind Lord we have!

Today’s reading: 1 Kings 18:30-46 · John 12:20-26

NEGATIVE LIVING

Life comprises of positive and negative elements. As a matter of necessity, it is not good for someone to opt for negative living. The fact that Jesus Christ was destined to die for the sin of the whole world does not exonerate Judas Iscariot from the evil that led him to the idea of betraying the King of Glory....More
