Come!

Come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live.
Isaiah 55:3

Come!
In the Bible, God repeatedly invites people to Himself with a “Come”!

o “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price” (Isaiah 55:1). This invitation is addressed to all those who realise that they lack the most important thing in life. God wants to give them complete fulfilment in their lives.
o “Come now, and let us reason together,” says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow” (Isaiah 1:18). All who groan under the weight of their guilt are able come to God as they are. Will He condemn them? No! Upon confession He forgives all their sins.
o “Come, for all things are now ready” (Luke 14:17). Jesus Christ, with His work of redemption, has done all that is necessary for the salvation of lost people. When they come to God in personal faith in the Lord Jesus, they will be saved.
o “Come, follow Me” (Mark 1:17). This is the Lord’s call to follow Him. People who have accepted Him as their Saviour are called to follow Him daily as His disciples.
o “Come and see” (John 1:39). This invitation is extended to all who wish to know the Son of God better. By reading the Bible and living in the consciousness of His presence, they will come to know more and more who He is.

Today’s reading: 1 Kings 21:16-29 · John 14:12-21

(Mark 4:11)

The Lord Jesus told His disciples that they would be given an understanding in "the mystery of the kingdom of God." He also spoke of another class of people to whom everything would be spoken in parables; these He described as, "them who are without." How solemn that God should...More

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
(Galatians 6:1-2)
